Fantastic ability to do faithful covers of iconic artists and iconic songs that are somehow not annoying and not a rip-off and completely his own! I think he goes beyond a super talent. There's some magic mixed in there! Plus he does it consistently over a huge range of disparate artists, songs and musical styles. Just one heck of a cool dude!!!

Listen to this excellent cover and you understand clearly all the essential elements that makes this a great song. The clean way it's played emphases the dirty sound of the guitar, the vocals just pull the tempo. In the right way. This precision leads to a really musical interpretation, I love it.

MrLoadedHog I watched the video about the guitar that is in the description and also visited the website where the guitar is sold, the top peice is actually not Black Limba, it's flamed bookmatched claro walnut. inbetween that and the mahogony back is an accent of either alder or poplar, i forget which, gorgeous guitar. idk if I'd drop 6k on one though lmao. ps, not trying to be a know it all, just like to put the correct info out when I can.

Hearing this *again* in September 2024, and transported back to 1969 when the Stones’ single broke. Satisfaction in ‘65 was similarly ear-opening and musically-mind-expanding, but being 5 years older and a better player, HTW hit me even harder. Until the layers of sound take over the song, it’s clarity and openness thrilled me, especially after the previous single, the muddy-sounding JJ Flash. Thanks for sharing this beautiful production, Josh!

When you want to sound like the Stones, you sound like you spend your whole life perfecting being a Stones cover band. When you want to sound like Queen, Hank Williams, Eagles, S&G, The Drifters, etc., you sound like you spend all your life becoming each of them. It's amazing.

The drums or the pan (I think you mean cowbell) are the only things I can't do. on this song :) The guitar for this is easier if you tune it to open G. You get this amazing sound but quite easily - which can't be bad. This guys is tremendously talented though.
