I had the 8X Max for a few months then I dropped it and cracked the screen last week and now I own the Mi Max 3. My review is, they both are good phones but I like the 8X max screen resolution better but Mi Max isnt anything to sneeze at either. The Mi Max is slighty lighter in weight and the cameras are comparable. The reason I like the Mi Max slighty more is because it has more mobile bands available in my area than the 8X. I got 4g in the USA but the Mi Max was a little more consistent. So I will give the Mi Max an edge over the 8x but the 8x is no punk.

Glass Back on 8X Max already has me choosing Mi Max 3. Yeah, glass backs on phones look fantastic when new, but they literally crack when you breathe on them and make the phone look atrocious in the long run :/ I had a Samsung S8+ that I hadn't even dropped and just woke up one day with the back cracked and had no idea how it even happened!

I totally get what you mean. I hate uneven top and bottom. And it even seems that the notch on the 8x Max protrudes more into the screen than on the 8x, making the black bar even thicker.

I've seen Huawei and Xiaomi devices at stores and i am very impressed! Because both of these companies make great smartphones with high specs, even with stock Android in them which you can always upgrade to the next version, and pricewise affordable, so instead of buying a Samsung note 9 or an iPhone x series which are to expensive, I'd rather buy two or three phones for the price of the latter, buy 1 xiaomi and 1 Huawei with big screens! Xiaomi and Huawei you make great phones keep up the great work 👍👌
