Honor Magic5 Lite Review || Almost Worth It!

Bought it new as secondary device for € 175,- second hand and i mean it's just above great in every way except the camera. By all means, the photos are more than ok with good hdr with average amount of light it's more than fine. Video is ok, at first i thought oh no! No image stabilisation whatsoever but it does eis after the video is taken and it's doing a great job. Apart from that, great design, stellar battery life, outstanding Bright colorful screen very fluid in daily use. i also have the poco f5, sure it's faster but i kinda prefer the honor tbh since the touch imput rate is higher it feels more direct to the touch. Only time you really notice the processing difference is with heavy gaming and exporting big files, apart from that very similar performance i dont miss my poco f5 for a bit after switching wich is saying alot. I typed this on my honor magic 5 lite, great phone, great price. Only downside is the camera

Honor doing a decent deal on this in the UK for black Friday- just picked one up new 256/8gb for £225.

@@mdluk199 I just bought for £199 (8GB + 256GB model), seems like a bargain compared to other phones in that price range. I did some research but couldn't find anything that stood out as much + I had an honor a while back and loved it. Stopped buying them due to not having the playstore, but it looks like it's back! :) I know the cameras a downside, but honestly if I want a good pic I'll use an actual camera

Its only drawback is the camera, but with Google Camera the situation is getting better

and lack of support the chat is automated security patches are like 9 month out of date and ten support is non existant.

Thanks. Some of the resellers online have listed the 256GB model with "8GB + 5GB RAM". What's all that about?🤔 I don't think there's a typo or confusion with 5G network support.

Not a typo, but bit misleading, the extra "5GB" is not actually ram, but dedicated space on storage memory that OS can use as it was RAM, vary similar to page file on Windows. Honor is advertising that feature as "turbo RAM", while not useless it is not even close to a substitute for actual RAM, i guess resellers are just parroting sales pitch from honor's website.

Would be better to have 1 rear camera that is of high quality than multiple cameras that are all trash, take up more space inside and looks ugly. These budget phones need to stop this camera trend, just one 24mp camera on the rear is enough.

Yes, you can transfer wirelessly or by a USB c to USB c cable. Should be able to follow the onscreen instructions. There might be a need for an app to do it but it's easier enough

any idea when this will receive magici ui 7.1 with android 13? this company make some nice devices but security patch is still on march ridiculous!! this company is a joke sometimes.they churn out handsets like handing out sweets to kids but don't support 90% of them once they have left the factory. they remind me of McDonalds they now have....home delivery, eat inside, drive through and now park up using the app. yet they have like no staff to deal with it all lol.

Don't buy this crap. I had it for more than 6 months and I can say is waist of money. The camera is not working is like you're taking photos with the first phone with camera in, is slow, very slow, you take picture now and it takes 5 second to make the shot. No back button, it's just the worst phone ever, and I always had the cheapest ones, redmi phones are above this piece of rubbish. For 2023 this is not a good phone, for 2013 probably would have been the best. Save yourself and don't buy it.
