I bought one 4/128 variant. But device info apps show the battery capacity to be 7250mah whilst the advertised capacity is 8300mah. Can you explain this ?

Device info apps estimate battery capacity based on readings from the device's battery controller. So it's more of an estimate.

I think you bought Honor Pad 8, not Honor Pad X8A, because Honor Pad 8 has 7250mAh
