I am a veteran and my grandfather fought in WW1 and my father in WW2 and we would all thank your parents for raising such a wonderful young adult as yourself. Please keep up the great work you do informing people of this history. Your countryside was beautiful. Stay well and be safe.

I appreciate how respectful you are with these videos about the two world wars. Here is a poem written by a Canadian soldier...John McCrae that has great meaning for most Canadians: In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields.

Marie, thank you from my heart for your visit there, and for this video. If Levi, Peter, Grover, Gabriel, Joseph and Swin could look down on this scene, to see a sweet young French Lady placing roses at their grave, I'm sure they would feel that their sacrifice had meaning. They would be touched by you, and I know all American veterans who see this are as well. God bless you. My Granddad Ed Self Went to war with his fellow Americans there, and came home alive. I grew up wondering why he was deaf in one ear, and missing two fingers. I found out later he was deafened by artillery fire. But after he returned he became a cowboy working for a stock yard in California. He actually lost his fingers in a roping accident, not in the war! He became the forman there and retired in Pamona. He loved us grandkids so much.

There are over 45 cemeteries for British and Commonwealth soldiers in France. Don't forget that many servicemen were also lost there during the 1st World War. Many soldiers were also buried by villagers in their local cemeteries. They honoured the men by tending their graves. There are thousands more in unmarked 'war graves'. Left where they fell. 'Served together, fought together, died together, buried together'. Hopefully, France is grateful the British don't hold grudges.

Marie, it's videos like this that really make me wish we all could do something to lift your spirits after you go to these heavy places. Seeing the weight of these places on your shoulders is touching. I brought three buddies back from the Middle East in pine boxes. I escorted them home and met with their loved ones. We used shirt garters from the military to pull the flag in so it hugged the coffin. Seeing the families lose it when they saw the flag-draped coffin for the first time is probably the most emotionally destructive thing I've endured. I didn't mind the combat and I'm fine with it to this day, but bringing my battle buddies home took all I had. I miss them every day. Military cemeteries are truly special places filled with true patriots and selfless people who gave their all for the freedoms Americans enjoy to this day. Remember, our flag doesn’t fly because of the wind that moves it. It flies with the breath of every fallen soldier who protected it. Marie, I hope you find something positive to see and experience. Those men in those cemeteries were there protecting France, among other nations. They died so that your family could exist and you could be born and have these amazing adventures. Live every day abundantly. When I watch your channel it feels a little like I'm watching my little sister (even though we're not related), and I just want you to be happy and have incredible experiences. I hope you smile and laugh today. That's what matters.

My body is broken, and I can't take the cold any more. I miss all my friends, and my brother and sister. I have found a Church to go to, but still feel all alone. I never realized that there were that many soldiers buried in France. I have been to the Only US WWI memorial in Kansas City, Missouri. In fact, I was an inspector that worked with the remodeling of the memorial. If you get a chance to see it that would be nice. If you ever visit Kansas City, there are some interesting museums. One is the Nelson-Atkins Museum. It has the world's largest Badminton Birds on the lawn. The museum contains priceless paintings and sculptures.

Class Act to go and show respect for the soldiers, and to "talk to their ghosts" as you lay the flowers is a sweet touch and something I do myself. I was reminded of the scene in the movie "Saving Private Ryan" when they had to make the decision to go get him after all his brothers were killed, when you were looking at the Map/Brochure and seeing at the bottom of it that it listed 22 sets of brothers were laid to rest there. Great video and I love that you have the type of kind heart to go do this and share it with those of us who either cannot go there or that will see this video and plan to make a trip there. 🙏 Loved the view at the end of the video with the scenery and town.

As a Son, who just buried his Vietnam Veteran Father 2 weeks ago, I would like to thank you for honoring our fallen American soldiers. Your respect will not be forgotten and hopefully my family can return the respect to you in some small way in the future. Dieu bénisse la France.

I'm 65 y/o and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. This video made my eyes water up some. Like the lady said, it's unusual for a young person to do something like that. So many in my own country don't even realize the sacrifice that it took to give them the life they have. This video means so much to me. From the bottom of my heart, thank you young lady.

Thank you for your respect and your time to Honor these fallen Americans. I too, visited a 1st WW American Military Cemetery (in Belgium) after War Games in West Germany. It was immaculate, devoid of people with the Markers in perfect symmetry. Though I did not know anyone buried there, I cried for the loss that so many suffered from so many Countries and so many families. Love your stuff, get off the East Coast if you want to see the real America. When you come back to us, I would suggest Chicago (you'll like it, they have Squirrels there :-) Hope you're feeling better.

The marriage of the ordered and formal French landscape architecture with the regimen of the simple formation of the white memorials is just breathtaking. Thank you for visiting, sharing, and showing your respect. ❤

Thank you so much for honoring our American heroes that fell in battle, liberating foreign country's people from oppression. Local boy just brought home. Unknown soldier buried in Italy for 80 years. Family found thru DNA testing. He was laid to rest with full military honors here in Kentucky today at Memorial Gardens, Elizabethtown, KY. He was killed 1 Aug 1943 by German machine gun fire as a lead scout, which allowed most of his unit to retreat to safety. His family was presented with a Bronze Star. He as 19 years old and had volunteered to serve in the Army infantry. Private J. C. Brooks, nickname "Buster". We salute you brother in arms for your courage and sacrifice. He would have been 100 years old this month. His half sister lived to be 103. His niece is my neighbor.
