March is Women’s History Month. It’s a time we set aside to honor women’s contributions in science, business, sports, social movements, and so many other fields. For centuries in America, women's contributions in these fields were often overlooked. As a result, they were omitted from history. That’s why we celebrate Women’s History Month and the opportunity it gives us all to get a more complete picture of our American history.

Beautiful. It's even more important today than any time to remember special people who made a positive difference in our great American heritage. It's important to learn about them and remember them. I love these great stories of our history. I hadn't heard of some of them before this.

Thank you for that information. We women in America are most blessed: We are free to make choices and do what we are gifted and inspired to do as well as what we were created to do (wife and mother) if we so choose!

No there are plenty we just need a month because every time women accomplish something nobody ever celebrates.The only thing we learn in school is about men...and I think men tend to forget that without women u wouldn’t even exist. That’s a contribution right there, and there are so much more besides that😅

What about our men who built this country from the ground up while women stayed in their homes free as could be watching tv
@melanated_princess2763
@melanated_princess2763 3 жыл бұрын
That was because men thought that women couldn’t do anything. Y’all forced us to stay home. You guys didn’t give us any jobs or opportunities and when you did you payed us less. This country wasn’t just build on men but slaves and people of color as well. Plus men don’t need a whole month to learn about their history cause Men’s history is the only history that people ever learn about in school systems. The whole point of all these different months and celebrations are to shine light on groups of people that almost never get the spotlight.

@@melanated_princess2763 I love how you deranged people frame issues like this. "Y'all forced us to stay home". Ehm, you really make it sound YOU had to stay home because of US, but the funny thing is that you're not a victim, and you're talking to people who are not the perpetrator. Again, you're not a victim because it did not happen to you, lunatic. There is no 'us'. Plus, there were no victims in the first place. Most women at the time were okay with it, just like men were okay to give their lives in the wars.

Every race and gender have their share of outstanding individuals and there is nothing wrong with remembering their good deeds. But you bet this new culture is taking a huge dump and demonizing you know who, and that is not helping create a good happy society. I see more racism and less people trying to get married.

@@imajsstove2907 That's....my exact point. Men are the majority of historical figures in history books, despite the vast accomplishments and inventions of women. Hence the need for women's history month, but not men's history month. We're not taking away any accomplishments of men by also taking the time to point out the accomplishments of women.

the whole point is to shine light on what isn’t already brought attention to.Mens doings are already celebrated all the time u have every other month.Unless ur a male person of color then you’ve always had rights in this country.Yalls good deeds have already been seen not saying their not important but they are already recognize them but women’s doings haven’t always been recognized so we have one month out of the whole year to recognize the women who did great thing because they haven’t been recognized before. So no u don’t have a month u have all year!

Majority of history is about men, particularly white men. Which is why months like Black History Month, women's History Month, Hispanic Heritage Month, and any other month that celebrates the contributions to American society over the years made by minorities and oppressed groups are so special. These achievements are often overlooked.
