Question the person saying it. Make space for women. Use your privilege to fight for their rights along with them. Bro women weren't 'meant to bring love and compassion into the world'. They're just human beings. None of us are 'meant' to do anything, we're brought into this world by chance and make of it what we will. Reducing women to 'happy sunshiney positive all the time' is just a different form of sexism
@BarnsOfChris8 ай бұрын
@@CoRLex-jh5vx I'm sure he didn't mean it like that. And in times where women on social media are down right demonized as evil manipulative people who want to control and abuse.. I at least would like to hear more of positive traits here and there. Don't try to be offended for the sake of it. That surely won't change anything.
@PoisonArr0w7 ай бұрын
@@CoRLex-jh5vx As a woman this person is obviously very sweet and wasn't trying to say that. I get your point though
@CoRLex-jh5vx7 ай бұрын
@PoisonArr0w I've already said, whether he meant it 'that way' or not, saying any group of humans is "meant" to do anything is harmful and reductive. If all women are "meant to spread happiness" then what does that mean for those who don't? It's basically just the same ideology as catcallers who order women to smile, same as the whole existence of the term 'resting bitch face' while men with the same expression are 'probably just thinking about something'. Women aren't magical pixies who flit about all smiles and sunshine, and only exist to cheer men up. Thinking that way is just exchanging one form of sexism for another and puts women on a pedestal they will inevitably be punished for falling from. I've been there, done that. It doesn't work. Subtler sexism is still sexism.

We must not feel shame for being a victim of our circumstances, but be bold and courageous to fight against these evil so that we may protect the generations after us and break the bonds of generational curses and trauma. Certain countries have more difficulty for women. I am a Canadian woman, I was raised in a very dysfunctional home. Then I got pregnant at 18, and married an abusive man. He left me broken 25 years later, took everything, his business, our furnishings, me nothing. We had 3 kids together that were grown, they have stayed in closeness with me, but not him. I got all the treasure, the grandkids at my knees. Financially it has been difficult, I am 60 now and live with my daughter and her family. I had no money to fight him.

Even though some women do not want to associate with the label feminism, owing to the bad wrap on conventional media. The women that I have interacted with make decisions that clearly goes against the grain of patriarchy's wishes. I have seen women walk out of marriages that didn't serve them I have seen women take up space in the workplace and own the space and deliver without self sabotage I have seen women who openly declare their intention to remain childless and unmarried. the point is that culture has created environments where it is normalised for men to be violent against women. nobody's saying that women are not perpetrators as well - it's just that men commit violence on a much larger scale, with the reason for it being that many cultures across the world to this day dehumanise women to the point where violence committed against them is considered just another day. yes this culture has decreased immensely in the western world, for example, however the mindset of "women are objects to be used" is still very much alive

This is the type of round table we need. No more goofy as$ celebrities talking nonsense and that they """struggle""" even with their privilege.

For men that want to say that feminism is basically female above male. It's not. That's not their point. Their point is that everyone, absolutely everyone, should be on the same level, and equal. The love, the education, the social standing, and everything around it should be the same for women and men.
@Drankovich5 ай бұрын
Well what is your definition? Because many women take that extreme prescribed definition that men should be lesser than women and automatically demonised to achieve 'parity' which is fundamentally wrong. Nobody wants to be a victim but you can't pretend that there aren't people that hijacked 'feminism' for their own misanthropic gains over the years. Many people who are enlightened with good stable upbringing do not contest the idea women should be able to live unaccosted for merely existing, but the 'feminist' leaders & talking heads do not engage with cultural practices against women abroad & at home for fear of being labelled a 'culturally insensitive'. Hence why the police are hesitant to act on reports. Try convincing these supercilious people to stop fabricating luxury problems, to see real life issues like these and you might win normal people over. The well has been poisoned so a new term is needed.

Feminism is giving women the right to choose what they want to do with their bodies and their lives

@@mahoganysoulll There are feminists who believe women are better than men instead of equal to men. As opposed to them, OP feels like these are the real feminists fighting for what is right.
