I find it so very important that you kept mentioning that hooded eye shape is different on almost each person that has "hooded eyes". At the beginning when I learned how to put make up on my hooded eye shape I also watched thousands of videos on "hooded eyes" and couldn't understand why different methods simply didn't look good on me. It really took me a long time to practise and see what made my eye look flattering. But I think it would have helped a lot if I saw your video where you do explain that no hooded eye is the same (even my own two eyes are not hooded the same way LOL). I think I would have gotten the whole idea quicker!! So this was such a good job from thousands of other "hooded eye videos"!! Really great job!! Thank you for doing this!!

I wanted to share something funny with you. I was watching your current vid and fell asleep, it’s not you, it’s me. Your videos have made me grateful for my hooded eyes, like no other make up artist has. So, I had a dream while listening to you on auto play. We were in the house I grew up in, you were doing a tutorial in my kitchen at the kitchen table. I couldn’t WAIT for you to finish so I could ask you to “please do my eyes!” 😂🤣 This video is such a great tutorial it is saved. Thank you so very much for your channel. I’ll never be able to say that enough. Blessings, sweet soul!

Yours is the first channel I've ever subscribed to AND "clicked the bell" to be notified of new videos! 😊 This is by far the best video I've ever seen on hooded eyes! You answered like 8 of my questions about my hooded eyes, even ones I didn't know I had! You are truly an artist-- I think I've just had so many basic "tips" for applying eye makeup ingrained into my thinking and never quite knew why they didn't work for me. I've kept trying to apply more products and fancy faux creases to fix the issues--watching this it's like a bell went off in my head--less is more! It's so cool that you can actually apply less makeup just in a strategic way to make the eye more open. I love the logical thinking that goes Into every step, that's how my mind works so it really clicked with me. I feel like a cartoon with a light bulb over my head right now--thank you so much! 😀 You are gorgeous, btw! 😍

Every hooded eye tutorial i’ve ever seen talks about lifting the eyes. I have a long head and round eyes that are slightly down turned, and I think I look best when I accentuate that. I disagree with the other comments, your do eye is obviously way better. I just think it’s interesting that my experience with hooded eyes is so different than everyone else’s.

For me I found this very helpful because I love wearing make up but sometimes less is more. My eyes always end up looking super dramatic without even trying, kinda like your bad eye did. It is the perfect look for going out or on the page in a magazine but not so much in a work environment or everyday. Everyone always comments on my how my make up looks good so I"m not afraid of being judged, but I don't want too look "done-up" every time I decide to use an eyeshadow. I usually stick to just mascara because I am afraid of the shadows being too distracting to my entire face. It's alwas great to have options. Even if you added different and more vibrant colors you could acheive a lot of beautiful looks on hooded eyes with your techniques. Thank you!
@bluevictory10106 жыл бұрын
Your absolutely correct, no two hooded eyes are the same. Just like you I watched tons of videos and none of the techniques looked good on me. I've always found hooded eyes alluring so being born with them hasn't broken my heart. That said, yes, it takes some alterations of traditional techniques, mostly along the lines of avoiding huge, exaggerated looks and sticking with matte shades. Less is definitely more, with shimmers on hooded eyes, and the right tools are a must. You're spot on with everything you say and do here. Thanks for such an honest and no-nonsense tutorial! (I still think you could pull off a half cut crease just fine, though! Do you have any videos in which you do that look?)
@monicaheartsgypsy78777 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I really like the tip for pushing the dark shadow "into" you lash line instead of above. I have been struggling with that and avoided darkening my lash line at all except for the outer corners. I also have been struggling figuring out how to define my outer v.. I have found a u shape works better for me, but I really like how you did it and I can incorporate that as well. Yes, it is so frustrating to watch tutorials of people with huge eyelids who just look like they swipe a blending brush in their crease and make it look so effortless.. Then I try it and work super hard only to look in the mirror later and realize that when my eyes are open naturally you can't see any of my hard work. I'm 26 and just started wearing makeup.. It really is in art.

It's been like four years of me being like I don't know what to dooo any more. My hooded eye just looks like a bump lol. Haha. Lis Eldridge videos helped a bit but I still had a terrible habit of brining my outer wing shadow to high up, and I had totally forgotten how to do my wing eyeline but a few other videos have helped me re-think that. I love your tutorial!! You are so so beautiful...I'm 65 with very, very crepey hooded eyes. They didn't start out that way, but came along with age. I use eye pencil on the inner lid on top. I think they call it tight lining. I have also watched thousands of hooded eye tutorials. But, everytime it's done on someone alot younger than myself. There's alot of difference between someone who is born with hooded eyes and someone whose eyes became that way with age. With age your dealing with alot of loose skin. I personally don't use any type of shimmer, it just accentuates my wrinkles. I would like to see a hooded eye tutorial done on someone with my issues. That I haven't seen yet. Thankyou for your tutorial, but please find an older model with hooded eyes, for your next one.

I think there is a happy medium between the two... on your "do" side, leaving that much lid space makes the hood look very big and bright. A well blended wash of a light brown from your natural crease and just slightly above would soften it and give it some dimension. Great videos, I'm realizing this is an older video and you probably do that by now anyways!!

That’s so pretty!!! I keep accidentally doing the “don’t” side which ends up looking so super heavy, and I don’t like it. This was so helpful, thank you!! 💗

Also we used damp natural sea sponges to blend foundation etc. And those soft white triangle sponges.

It's so crazy when you look down your good eye shadow looks like a real eye lid it freaks me out! in a good way lmao! I also lmao when you say about lifting your eye with the hand motion just feels right haha ! 😂 best most informative video I ever watched on you tube. Prolly bc your the only hooded eye person (that I've seen on here) who actually has hooded eyes! So many others are only slightly hooded or not even hooded at all or anymore so I can't follow along with that bc my eyes are hooded all day every day! Even using the lightest shadows I own doing similar to your "bad eye" closes and darkens my eye. If I could like this video a million times I totally would! 👍😊💕

Your "good" eye is a nice day time look, your "bad" eye, but without the line or maybe with a thinner liner is a great night-out look. You have very big eyes and a high brow arch so it works on you.

Hi Brittany, I just discovered your channel and am really enjoying it. Since I am an older lady with hooded, I was pleased to see that you have hooded eyes which I always thought came with age. I am learning a lot from you. Thank you. Great video.

Idk if you'll respond but I was wondering if there's ways you do your eyeshadow different now compared to when this was filmed. Do you find yourself still gravitating towards the "good eye" type of makeup or is there different things you've figured out that you prefer more now? It might be a great vid idea to do a then and now of eyeshadow application 😁

I actually prefer your "bad" eye over the "good" eye.

Autumn Spring I clicked on the video thinking the "Don't eye" was the "do eye"

Me too. If the shadow was blended a little bit more, I'd much prefer it.
@ann-sophied8286 жыл бұрын
Same! The good side was a bit boring. How on earth are you supposed to integrate colour with this technique. There is hardly any use of shadow, let alone colour. I bet the same result could be had with just one dark bronw and a lot of blending with a crease shade. The bad side needed a bit more blending and a bit more TLC
