Besides the dunes, we have a semi-arid terrain called caatinga. He would blended well on that terrain. He would blend in at the drought season on cerrado, a savannah like area in the mid west of the country, bordering the amazonian rain forest.

I had this set when I was a kid and originally thought these were knockoffs when I saw them in the store. My mother bought the set for me, but eventually they would get stolen from me because we lived in a bad neighborhood. What hurst the most is seeing how much these go for these days. Eventually, I will recover these figures as to the others as well. Really enjoyed the video as I thought this was an in depth assessment/review. Oh, I still have my Claymore and Leatherneck file cards!

I didn't get to visit Toys R Us often at this point, I recall someone (my grandparents, maybe, or my best friend and his mom) taking me when this was released. I was very confused seeing it on the shelf, as it wasn't anything I'd heard of prior. When the Special Missions comic debuted shortly after that, I just assumed they were some sort of tie-in to one another. I spent years never once coming across anyone who knew what I was talking about when I mentioned this set. Finally found out what it was all about in the early internet years. I really like the Wet-Suit repaint, best figure in the set, to me. Thanks for another great video, and have a happy birthday!

Just for anyone who is curious, John Zullo is the grandfather of the creator of Claymore, Michael Charles Hill. He also wrote the character bio, taking parts of his family history and his own hometown of Manchester as parts of Claymore's history.

Great review! I'm not very happy with the paint choices on all of these, except for Leatherneck and Wet-Suit. I think these figures' repaints looks better than the originals.

I had this & liked it, I did not record on the back side of the tape. Well this explains why I couldn’t find Captain Claymore in a previous edition like all the rest of the set. My favorite two were Dialtone and Claymore. I think I still have both those two figures.

First of all, I hope you have an awesome b-day! I didn't have a TRU in my area as a kid, so this set remained unknown until I got into collecting as an adult. Unlike Night Force, it really doesn't hold much appeal to me from a collecting standpoint, but it's a fun curiosity from a G.I. Joe archeological sense, and I enjoyed the lesson!

I got this set for my birthday as a kid and wore out the tape, listening to it nightly… some of the colors bothered me. Ida loved uniformity in their uniforms… all else was super cool. I still have some of my Joe’s locked up in the attic

In the summer I found 2 gijoe collector cases at the flea market for 40$ filled with figures 3 of the figures were Claymore, Dialtone, wetsuit from this set . At first I didn’t know what I had but very quickly remembered my friend explaining claymore and I was shocked . I quickly found the other two figures to complete the set the only thing I can’t get my hands on for a good price is claymores helmet . So I’m using the exact mold helmet from the accessories pack . Yojoe!

About the file cards. Since Claymore's card was in a different location than the others I'd assume the paper / cardboard had a different coating on that sheet, causing the ink to react differently. Claymore's card also looks significantly shinier than the others (more like the standard cards were), where as the others are a bit duller.

The bantering between Leatherneck and Wetsuit doesn't necessarily mean they don't like each other. I have a buddy I've known 40 years now since we were 6 years old. We pretty much act like Leatherneck and Wetsuit, but he's still one of my best friends and I love him like a brother.

Had I know about this set back in the day, I defiantly would have gotten it from ToysRUs. Wet Suit defiantly looks the best out of all of them. Leatherneck is okay, but his colors suggest a desert mission rather than jungle. Dial Tone and Mainframe look more like that should be back at the Pit with the colors they have. Still had owned this set, I would played with them regardless. Speaking of Brazilian made action figures, the Quick Kick action figure that recently got is the Brazilian version with the brighter skin tone. Also having seen pictures of the exclusive G.I. Joes, they are some of the most interesting action figures produced outside the US. I really like the Tiger Force Airtight and Shipwreck exclusives. When the G.I. Joe Collectors Club sold these characters in the modern sculpt style, I made sure to pick them up.

Joe is military fantasy after all but when it goes too far it's ridiculous! Happy birthday HCC788 . interesting note on the claymore. if you check out the images of the one on yojoe both belts are fully painted , looks like yours might be a factory error one. Also the convention version of ME version Mission Brazil Mainframe or sgt. mainfraime as they had to call him had so much better colours then the Mission Brazil v1 that pink/red is not flattering lol .

I was just going through all my GI Joes and had a total Mandela Effect moment remembering both Dial Tone's colors incorrectly (blue/silver) and thinking the 5th figure was a variant of Low Light. I have zero memory of Claymore now. I can't even find his figure in my collection. I must have traded him off for someone "better" back then.

That Cobra Commander on that cassette tape was just weak yikes!.I remember getting this and wanted that wet suit in silver but when I got him I put them in my huge joe crate and my dog chewed up the one I wanted the most wet suit!!!
