GYR is back with another FM23 tactic and today we're looking at his latest tactic - SUPERMAN!
This is an amazing 3-4-2-1 FM23 tactic that we have tested with Real Madrid, Dortmund and Bradford City.
Real Madrid won 5 trophies in the season and went unbeaten in La Liga.
Dortmund went on to win the Bundesliga.
Bradford dominated the league and got themselves promoted from SkyBet League Two.

I have always made content throughout my professional career, however, it has always been for someone else. In May 2020 I decided that it was time to create something for myself. Football Manager has always been a game that I have loved so wanted to take this opportunity to share some of the tips and tricks that I've learnt!

They are alot of fun. The wbs get that extra freedom and the cms creativity makes a massive difference.

I've used this tactic in the VNS & VNL with Cheshunt, then I got the Walsall job while they were almost nailed on for relegation from L2 with 6 games left. We won 5 and drew 1 of the remaining games using this tactic and survived relegation by a single point. The next season using this tactic from the start, we won the league with 107 points, a new L2 record. We won 34 of our 46 games and only lost 7. This was with basically the same squad that barely survived relegation the season before. After winning L2, I got the job at Crystal Palace, newly relegated from the PL. So far we've played 6 games in the Championship, won 5 and drawn 1, which includes beating both Reading and Bournemouth away, who are 2nd and 3rd in the table behind us. And this is with a squad that has been basically destroyed by all the key players leaving after their relegation release clauses were triggered. So yeah, this tactic rules. The only downside is you will absolutely pick up a lot of cards, but I can live with that. I haven't tested it with a really top team yet, as every team I've taken over in this save has been underdogs in their respective leagues. Palace are the first team that were even predicted to finish in the top half of the table.

Highly recommend this tactic, currently using it in my nimes save and won the ligue 2 title and have just finished in the champions league spot after getting promoted 🎉🎉🎉

Great tactic!! Using it on my Spurs save and really enjoying it. The shadow strikers get in the channels and the opposition find it really hard to pick them up. Varied build-up, good passing triangles too. Quick question. Any roles or positions that you think are sacrosanct and shouldn't be changed? E.g. maybe you don't have a roaming playmaker but you've got a really good deep-lying playmaker. Or do you still just use the players you have even if they're not a perfect fit?

Ummm i can't really recommend changing any just because I test alot and they work in combinations which is what creates the play patterns you mentioned. You change one and might need to change another which impacts another pairing and so on 😂 obviously you have downloaded so go wild and mess with it but results wise I'd say change nothing as I don't know what impact it will have.

Hey, I am currently using this tactic in a low legue (2nd division) and am having disciplinary issues during games. The tactic has given me good results, but since I started using it my players have been getting a lot of red/yellow cards. Any suggestion to reduce the cards?

Yeah I think I popped it on the download page as it's a common issue in the stronger tactics. Take get stuck in on and maybe have the attackers on tackle hard if they aren't already

Just setting it up on ps for the cbs can’t seem to get the more direct passing on it’s not available for me to select. Anyone know how to fix or will it work alright without that on?

Sometimes instructions kind of carry over if you put them on one role and switch to another. You should be fine without but let me know.

Is there any tweaks that can be done if you’re more of the underdog and/or playing away?? Sometimes I’m conceding late Casue I think my players get tried so would love to know the tweaks that make it a bit less aggressive. Thanks!!!

Changes usually do impact things in a negative way. GYR strives to make them as plug and play as possible

​@@Windust22 you can try the normal game management stuff but don't go too early. Waste time, less running, don't press the keeper, drop the tempo a little and play for set pieces. But I'd only do this round 87 min at the earliest so depends how late your conceding

I feel like it can be viewed both ways. With the wbs inline with the dms why are they named in a back 5 and not the dms? for me the 3421 is a better description of the formation and the positioning.
