Hooien / Making hay - June 10, 2013

Thanks Elodie :-)! We had a good harvest because this Spring we were able to manure the field at the end of March (usually we can't because this field is too wet in early Spring for the heavy manuring machines but this year there was a short dry period at the right time). But we could have had even more hay if it hadn't been so cold. Manure, water and warmth is what we need to grow the grass :-). We might be able to have a second hay harvest this summer, depending on the weather.

So great that you can make your own hay Marja!! I enjoyed watching the process, thanks for sharing. Could you make a lot of hay this year with all the rain there was? Here some of the hay fields are completely wasted because they were under water.
