you're better off putting new fitting is the suction side by cutting 1 1/2" fittings into the reinforced area. Better flow and can get the most out of the pump.

Was wondering why not just heat up black part and use pvc on the inside I got nice shut offs from Amazon with better mounting options

Just cap off the two intakes and install a wall skimmer for your intake and use your return line that came with the pool. And you'll get way better filtration and circulation

You talking about A and B close both of them up with the skimmer?

@@geronimojr7534 plug them both and add the skimmer doest have to be there. Or add the skimmer and tie them into it. And have all 3 that's what I did

yes, that's a great idea. My last pool I put a skimmer in. It makes a world of difference.

Pex is not UV tolerant. (So I’m told) What a cool idea. Never considered pvc piping one of these. The pipes they come with are not very durable. One of my tenants has an Intex pool, I’ve had them in the past, so I’m her landlord and poolboy. Many years ago I worked for a pool company one summer, both built and maintained them and troubleshooted, and fixed a few. While I was there. (30 years ago).

that's interesting... I've never heard that. Everything I hear about Pex is how it's the most perfect thing ever LOL I am happy with the PVC - it holds up infinitely better than the stock tubing they provide

What size is that long piece .. 2ft?

I don't remember... I probably just held it up next to the ends and cut it

It is better to use short hoses for the last part. The pool is flexible, the walls will move, the pipes will break like this.

not a bad idea, but believe it or not, even with wild teenagers I've never had an issue with the pipes breaking and I've done this on several pools... the pools fail long before the PVC
