My Mom was told to stop trying to be an artist because she was blind in one eye and was not able to draw a straight line. Well when she told me this, I just looked her in they eye and asked her to find the straight line in all of my artwork. Me Mom was proud of my ability to draw and paint and had always said she wish she could paint like me. After asking her to find the straight line she went out the next day and enrolled in art lessons. In her 3rd year of art classes she won first prize for her Christmas Sean painting. When she accepted her prize she said, “ I like to thank my daughter for asking me where the straight line was in any of her paintings” I was so proud of my Mom I remember doing a works shop with her and realised I wanted her to shine brightly so I fringed a headache so I was not able to paint😹😹I am so glad that I did the pice she painted is stunning it’s a picture of the coral reef with fish swimming and playing with a couple of turtles swimming around.😊it hangs in the living room to this day as a reminder that she could do anything she put her mind to it. It took me almost 24 years to convince her that she had the same talent as both her sister and myself. Literally cannot fault it and spare original parts are bit hard to find now so when ever time comes, I'll get a newer dyson, it's been battered through 3 house moves, gets used on carpet, wood floors and car/van yet still works as it did on day one and plastics have never cracked they scratched etc but that's it. @@jadejaguar69 Price of bags over a lifetime, versus one purchase of a vacuum early in life. I wonder. I don't have the numbers. But I would rather have a machine that works well longer. With no money spent on it after purchase. Then to have a constant money sink. It is because of the initial price (and that I did not understand how much better of a vacuum it is) that I don't have a Dyson, but I am interested now that I have seen this video. Maybe build one on my own that sits in the corner of my room and has a long suction tube. Although right now, I do have a bagless shop-vac.
@mendi19573 жыл бұрын
@@jadejaguar69 at first that is what I thought until I bought one bc the previous 3 vacuums I had bought in less than three years had lost their suction quickly. Since I live with animals in my house something had to be done & invested in an animal Dyson vacuum. Best vacuum investment ever!!! I purchased it in 2004 and kept it until 2016 when I bought a new one. For 12 years this vacuum never lost its suction and performed better than any Hoover I ever owned. Do the math ... was winning investment for me.

Every time a teacher calls a student bad or a failure always ends extremely good for the student
@sugarkitty20082 жыл бұрын
Not really. You only hear of the successful ones. There are far more that do end up as failures. Perhaps because the teacher was right, or their words caused the failure to happen.

Absolutely awesome story! Well narrated as well. I love the know it all people out there in management or whatever, that cant see the future, that has no vision, no creativity, no ability to truly understand what the next great thing will be... and sits in judgement of the people that have the answers!!!

It's heartwarming to see stories like these, where even massive, mainstream companies are proven to have sweet histories. Dyson was an underdog in town, then Britain, then courts. While some of the company's practices still feel corporate, its success helped people across the globe! James's retention of the entire stock is also good to see. Someone tried to do what they liked most as their career, and eventually reached a point where he could for as long as he wanted.

Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window ? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment?

Would NEVER have another Dyson in the house, the first one burnt out the motor and was replaced under warranty. The second one did the same less than a year later. Now we use Hendry Hoover, had it over ten years built like a tank, even see it used on a cruise ship. If you have labs, then it's a must for dog hair with the turbo brush attachment. The Dyson was the original DC01, now makes all the products in Malaysia and still sells them at crazy prices, example £329 for a bloody hairdryer and idiots pay that.
