3x07 Emma & Hook #3

"Dark Hollow" -- Mr. Gold and Regina send Ariel back to Storybrooke with an item that will allow Belle to locate a hidden artifact that could help take down Pan. But unbeknownst to them, two men have broken into the town with the intent to stop them -- at all costs. Meanwhile, Emma, Neal and Hook attempt to find Dark Hollow, where Peter Pan's shadow dwells, in order to capture it, and Mary Margaret is upset with David for keeping his poisoning a secret from her, on "Once Upon a Time," SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 10 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

I just noticed that when she saw Hook being attacked Emma yelled HOOK!!!! but when Neal was attacked their was nothing but silence. This proves my theory... Captain Swan is endgame!!!! They are made for each other!!!! :)

I like this scene when they are being attacked because 1) she calls out for Hook not Neal when the two of them are grabbed and 2) the symbolism of how Hook was pinned in front of her and Neal was pinned to the back where she can't see him unless she turns around. This scene is very significant because, Emma is in the middle of the two men which could be seen as her being at a crossroad right now when it comes to who she might/could/will end up with. Also why I think she will end up with Hook is because he was placed in front of her while Neal was behind her, her past (Neal) and Hook who was in front of her (her future?). She also keeps glancing at Hook after she captures the shadow. I'm willing to bet she was able to conjure that fire because of her feelings for Hook. Rumpel said in a previous episode (I forget which season) that 'conjuring magic is not an intellectual endeavor, it's emotion. You have to ask yourself why am I doing this? Who am I protecting?' :). I have a feeling Neal won't like that Emma is learning magic too. Let's not forget that Neal has hated magic for the majority of his life... I really hope Captain Swan is the endgame for these three. They've built Emma and Hooks relationship so far so well that I would hate to see it ruined because some of the fans think that since she had a child with Neal that she should be with him. CS forever!

yeah, she is able to make the fire because of her love for Hook but possibly also her love for Henry as that is actually her mission. some love fro Neal could possibly come into play as well but I think it is mostly just the love for Hook and Henry

symbolism at its finest! I love that you mentioned the Emma having magic thing. I don´t think that Neal really would have been okay with her using magic considering how his father abandoned him because of magic. Hook on the other hand, was and is always supportive of her learning and controlling her magic. He would always tell her that she could do it because he believed in her, even when she didn´t believe in herself.

I loved how Emma shouted Hook's name, but the most significant Captain Swan moment for me was after Neal asked if Regina was teaching her magic. The way she said "Yeah - I guess so" and then looked at Hook - juxtapose that with when Rumpel was teaching her last season and made the speech about conjuring magic being emotional not intellectual. "You must ask yourself who am I protecting?" Emma wasn't angry when she conjured that magic; she looked terrified. She wanted to protect. She succeeded, and when asked about it... looked at Hook. She might not yet be ready to admit it, but that moment was her realising she had deep feelings for him.

I feel like one of the reasons she looked so startled after she captured pans shadow is because she realized that she didn't need anger to start the fire, she needed love. Considering shes the product of true love, thats what expected. But she looked startled because in that moment she realized she does have feelings for hook when she acted out of love. :) Just my thoughts

"Guys, we don't have time for this. We REALLY don't have time for this!" Amen, Emma. I love Hook, and I'm reasonably fond of Neal, but really? Do they know Emma at all? Do they really think she'll be impressed by a "let's see who can be the most macho" show? On a positive note, when we are in times of great fear and duress, our true emotions come out. Emma's panicked cry of "Hook!" when the shadow pinned him to the tree--and her silence when another shadow did the same to Neal--spoke volumes about her real state of mind--and heart!

One other observation (although this has nothing to do with Captain Swan). Did you notice how Pan's shadow went for Emma, while his minions went for Hook and Neal? That seems significant to me. Emma is the one Pan is concerned about.

This is the moment I knew Emma's heart belonged to Hook. Neal's her past but Hook is her future. She clearly chose Hook when she called out for him instead of Neal. It's funny how Neal still wanted to pursue a relationship with her even after this very intense moment when in the heat of battle she called out for one man and it was him. The fact that he still thinks he has a chance after hearing her secret about not wanting him to be alive so she doesn't have to go through the pain again is unbelievably stupid. In her heart she's moved on and this scene shows where her heart truly lies. Emma: "Hook" Neal: "Emma" Neal! Neal! Neal when you call out a woman's name and you hear her screaming out another guy's name that means you're out of luck. She's already chose and you are not it sorry buddy.

the beginning of this scene with Hook and Neil seemed a bit too juvenile for them. I know love makes you act crazy sometimes, but really? They're both a couple hundred years old, I would think they'd be a little more mature about this. Like being able to light a candle first will really impress Emma. Just an observation as well, you can tell by the way she's standing there that she's freezing, with short sleeves and the wind howling. The guys are too busy arm wrestling over a lighter to notice lol. The two guys trying to impress Emma by lighting a candle end up being rescued by her instead. So much for trying to impress.

Was it just me or did emma protected hook from getting his shadow ripped? Didn't the shadow instantly kill greg, so why did it take so long with hook and neal? Was it because of emma or just dramatic effect to create suspense.
