Offshore and deep drop fishing out of Oregon Inlet in North Carolina. In addition to the troll bite, we sent some baits down deep and got tight on something pretty solid!

Amazing how the colors change on the dolphin. Some pretty good fishing that day.

Awesome grouper! Caught a 20" (PB) sheepshead this week in Southport thanks to you and the jigs you recommended. I'll be back up your way next month, hope I can catch some at oregon inlet.

Love to hear that man. It's one thing to go fish a location you see in a video, but to apply something you watch to another location/situation is what real fishing is! I'm sure you'll get some at OI

Gettin quicker w the planer bites lol

I will say it's a lot easier to keep an eye on the planer rod during a 20 minute video than 7 hours of staring at a rod tip for 5 planer trips haha

Oof guy standing barefoot while Wahoo fishing with his back turned to a Wahoo on the deck?? He is going to learn a bad lesson if he keeps that up. Good fishing man!!! That LP is such a badass unit I love em. That's a big Snowy anywhere!!! Can't believe you guys only get one. Pretty work with the fillet knife

@nolanminor6761 I have a different name for it but I won't leave that on here. We have a mate on our dock called shower shoes because a Wahoo got him wearing slides and he had to get airlifted to Miami for surgery

My sister and I go to Hatteras Village a few times each summer. Is this a charter boat? I’d love to be able to go out and catch incredible fish like these!
@nolanminor67618 ай бұрын
Not a charter, but if you want to catch the fish from this video, an offshore charter out of hatteras would be a good pick. They get more wahoo than the Oregon Inlet boats do, and I would imagine most would make a drop for snowy grouper if you requested it

Great video. Heading to OI in 2 weeks for some wahoo fishing. New to the area, mainly fish MHC. Picked up a couple deep drop weights for some tile if bite is slow. Never tried it but hoping to learn the water up there as we fish there more and more. Any advantages of running flouro on you’re planers instead of wire? Never rigged a double hooked ballyhoo.
@nolanminor67619 ай бұрын
Think tilefish will be closed then and may already be closed now. I would just fish for wahoo however you usually do it. There may be some yellowfin around by then that you'd be better off targeting which I imagine you'd rather catch anyway if you normally fish MHC. Good luck!
@nolanminor67619 ай бұрын
if you bottom fish in MHC you will be extremely disappointed by the OI bottom fishing lol. No other way to put it!
@9JordanTaylor39 ай бұрын
@@nolanminor6761 damn. May talk me in to just going to MHC. Mainly want to target wahoo. Way more familiar with the water down there. Think that would be the better wahoo bet? Fishing on a 30' Tidewater.

MHC or Hatteras if you want to wahoo fish but I don't know much about it @@9JordanTaylor3

Don't they die when you bring them up ?

Any reason why you don't gut the fish at sea? I gut all mine, of course sharks etc, and they tend to taste cleaner.

The "Epic", it's not a charter boat.

There is an 11th spine on this fish, it just looks like part of the soft dorsal. Easier to tell on larger grouper.

Why'd you keep a cuda???

Bottom fishing bait. Also never know when you'll run into a wad of dolphin

Awesome fishing. But when you cleaned and filleted the fish, you seemed to only keep the fillets, and threw away the body and the head. 🤔 If you think about a cut of beef, bone in is always better, why would you throw away the best part of the fish? The flesh around the bones is always the sweetest and the most succulent. Waste of good fish. 🥴

Lol, why even use boat with engines? With that reasoning, Row your ass out there like a real man.
