How can you not like this?

Hey Drew: That tall Power Pole seems perfect for open sky above moving waters but impractical or impossible for going under low hanging branches along river shorelines. Does it have a hinge? Can it be set into horizontal position? Or do you literally AVOID the shorelines that have low hanging branches with it installed?

Larry, one of the best questions I've ever gotten. Yes, the Power Pole has some limitations on smaller rivers and creeks. I haven't done this yet but I want to trim one of my spikes so I have a 4 or 5 footer to go along with the standard 8ft pole. This will help it be more effective in smaller water. It can hinge down if you need to get under branches, however. I just leave it at home when fishing smaller rivers and use my anchor wizard with drag chain on those trips. I always have. It's the power pole and anchor wizard on my kayak anyway because the power pole is only for shallow water and the drag chain can assist me in deeper areas or water with a lot of overhanging limbs etc. If I am on a bigger river and have to go near the shore then I just avoid overhanging limbs the best I can but the benefit of having to do that every once in a while is outweighed by the benefit the power pole micro anchor gives me. That's the long answer to your question anyway! Haha

I have a cheaper kayak and and the reviews say that my boat is real sable and it is but slow. So I thought if I become a better platter I would be more efficient. Two year later light years better. Good tip
