Wade the shallows of any smallmouth river and we'll see the shallows are full of young bass. These small fish are a juicy target for bigger fish, including bigger bass. If we fish rivers where smallmouth are abundant, it pays to have some of these in our fly box.

Smallmouth fry actually have an orange tail with black tips. Im gonna add a Golden Pheasant tippet for a tail. Thanks for the awesome pattern!

I'm actually imitating the fingerling stage where they have adult colouration, but I think your plan for fry sounds like a good one.

Were you looking for a video on this specific fly or one that dealt with managing a double bead pattern in general? I have a double bead pattern in the works that is similar to the Double Down Nymph, but it has a couple of important differences. I'm just short some material and some stock footage of its use, otherwise it would already been done.
