Oh that's really nice to know Adrian, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I often worry I make my videos too long, but I guess those who don't want to watch will just skip forward or switch off. I like to explain everything that happens in the day and getting them under an hour takes a lot of editing from several hours if footage. Thanks for watching and tight lines pal. 👍🎣

Always seems to be plenty of roach down there. Once saw somebody take 10lb of roach, below the bridge, on stick float and sweetcorn.
@HOOKEDFishingChannel4 жыл бұрын
It flows a lot harder on the narrows below the bridge. Stick float would no doubt work well there though I'd probably use the bolo.
@jorvikangler4 жыл бұрын
@@HOOKEDFishingChannel It's about 2/3 the width there. He said it was better than feeder for those, like him, that don't pole fish.
@HOOKEDFishingChannel4 жыл бұрын
Yes I think they like the bait wafted up in front of their noses, hence although I was holding back I was letting the current lift the bait in the flow below the olivette and that was the reason I raised the olivette up later in the day to allow it to rise a little more when the fish came up in the water.

Great vid mate, just wanted to know what reel you were using on the tip please. Cheers and keep up the good work 👍
@HOOKEDFishingChannel4 жыл бұрын
It's an old Shimano Exage 2500, you can't buy then now but its been a quality reel. If I had to buy another now it'd be the Shimano Stradic GTM...I have one in the 3000 version, effectively the same thing just in white, you can get them in 2500 body size.
@MarkBagger4 жыл бұрын
@@HOOKEDFishingChannel Thanks for reply I will have a look. Reason I asked is because I'm a bit old school but not too much lol. I do prefer a rear drag mate. 👍
@HOOKEDFishingChannel4 жыл бұрын
I like rear drag as well and both the Exage and Stradic have the 'fighting drag' lever which allows quick adjustments, they're the perfect design. Modern feeder reeks have much bigger spools but even in my 3000 with my 12ft rod I can throw a feeder 60m. I rarely go that far unless fishing a reservoir and then I'll use my viper fd850. I prefer compact reels as I think they balance with modern super light rods better.
@essexphoenix4 жыл бұрын
With the boats being there would it be worth trying punch ? Would have thought with the temp drop and with water getting clearer
@HOOKEDFishingChannel4 жыл бұрын
I'm fairly certain you'd catch on it, only downsides I see being that as it's white, it makes the prey fish more visible to the pike which are everywhere so they may be more spooky, it's not a great bait for keeping on the hook in deep water and it removes the chance of catching any bonus perch.

What pole do you use mate is it a daiwaz4
@HOOKEDFishingChannel4 жыл бұрын
Hi Simon it's a Daiwa ZR5
@simonchaddock36944 жыл бұрын
Is it a nice pole im thinking of getting a new one the matrix ones look good
@HOOKEDFishingChannel4 жыл бұрын
It's brilliant mate, honestly I've tried the top end ones and there's very little difference particularly up to 13m. I have picked up a couple of complete ZR5s for spares for around £300 each, you can't buy a section for that for some poles. Daiwa guarantee spares for at least 5 years and then you can get hold of them well beyond that. The ZR5 is actually lighter than an Airity. I won't entertain any other pole manufacturer than Daiwa now as spares support for other brand poles is usually poor. The new Daiwa Matchwinner C5 would be my choice if I was buying new...value for money.
