I'll be 70 this year and still love this band, unbelievable these are english lads, sound like a southern band to me.😊

I was even years old in 1971 and helping my brother with his band's equipment as supporting act to hook foot. Not easy as the whole concert was played to about 100 people on the back of a farmer's flatbed trailer located outside at the folly in Andover Hampshire. At 11 I stood a consumed the raw tonal rich roaring and very loud performance. To this day inspired and driven to play music since that memorable early summer evening. Only five years later I played as the supporting band to the Trogs at andover football stadium. Probably, the experience of hook foot was one of the most life changing experiences in my life. After they finished the set the band members jumped from the trailer to where I was standing. On a summer evening I could smell the scent of oils they wore. What a night!!! And too late for my bed time!!!

roger pope the drummer in Hookfoot past away on 18th September he was a good friend who I had the pleasure to have fist met in The Spring pub in Southampton in the 1990s he was a true gentleman with some funny stories he played with some of the great British artists like Rod Stewart, Elton John and Kiki Dee but he was into the music not the money as he turned down Paul McCartney Wings and Genesis he also knew the greats in British music with Keith Moon was his best man at his 1st wedding

Bob Harcourt Fantastic drummer-very soulful. Although he didn't play on the studio recording of Kiki Dee's-"Ive Got the Music in Me", he was in the Kiki Dee Band and played on rest of the album. His CV includes drumming on Hall and Oates late 70s album, ALONG A RED LEDGE which, I think, is one of their best-Caleb was also on that album. I'm not surprised he was such a good guy.

I have been reading a book about Elton John that said these guys were backing him in his early days great band.

All these guys were on the funkiest, most organic of all Elton John records…..Tumbleweed Connection. All atmospheric players of the first order..

The brilliant Caleb Quaye, who played guitar on the early Elton John albums.

I have the civil war cover LP and I bought it in the US.

Thanks for posting- I used to have the vinyl. A great album. It had a different cover in the UK. Probably the US authorities objected to the Civil War image on the cover!

Caleb is a preacher now, I am given to understand?

Yes, and he still has it as a brilliant guitarist but also now stands as a rock solid man of God and teacher and preacher of the Christian faith. He visited my church a few months back (this past January or maybe it was November) and left a great impression...

Anyone else noticing the similarity to early Barnstorm/James Gang?
