As good as you are thinking out a process and building things, why not attach some small rails to the post on that tractor and put in removeable plexaglass panels to keep out some of the cold air?

Bill, I love your country, but darn it gets cold up there (especially for a Texan like myself), and your job is super tough for that long winter up there. Not that its not tough the rest of the year. :)

the reason that bag of salt was so hard is that most likely another pallet of salt was sitting on top of your pallet where it was stored before you bought it thereby compressing the salt bags because of the weight of the pallet sitting on it

wouldn't they all be hard then?
@TheThecyclist7 жыл бұрын
not really the supermarket i use has bags of sugar which are on pallets and ive had several bags which have been rock hard and have found its the ones round the edge which are most affected
@dphillips7057 жыл бұрын
it's the old alot of serface area so the ones with the most weight on them would be hard and the salt acts as a cusion to the other bages below givng them more cusioning than the ones closer to the skid on top

you know you can set 4 or 5 bags on the corner of the salter and cut the bags top to bottom to make it ez to fill the salter

You are putting down way too much salt for the 36" of coverage you are getting. You can see it literally pouring out of that thing.

just that area. had a meeting that night and needed all the ice melted so no one fell. normally i have it turned down more

Just an idea could you not add some sand to the rock salt so you are not using as much salt and the sand will still make the roads safer as well
