I use these pink blocks of clothes detergent and it works incredibly well North Alabama @ Guntersville lake and above and below Guntersville Dam. Flatheads, Channel cats and blues absolutely love it !!

Here in NC we must run our lines parallel to the shoreline. And not able to use live bait. Must be marked on both ends with a bouy marked with your boat registration # or fishing license #. Limb lines must also be tagged with ID information, and no live bait. Your live bluegill bait makes me jealous 😂. We can use live baits on hand held fishing lines or poles.

I have a tip for you. Run your trot line from the bank and go out at about a 45 degree angle. Tie a old iron window weight on the end of it for a anchor. Also, about the middle of the line tie a jug to it to hold it about 5 feet under the water. You will catch more fish. Come up here to Illinois and I will take you out on the Mississippi river.

if you put a bicycle inner tube between your tie off line then your main trot line and stretch it a out it works like a rubber band and helps to set the hook and will help your catch and keep more fish on your line because it allows some stretch so the fish cant pull off
