Good morning and happy Monday! Well, you know me, I gotta Google everything. I found a "my first Hooks & Needles crochet box" video from April 2024, and it was the same box that you received in August. I double-checked against your video, and KZbin is being weird. It says your video has 13 comments, but only 12 are showing up & the comment I made is missing. Very strange. Oooh, that yarn is lovely! The colors look very spring-ish, although if you were to pair it with an off-black or dark grey, you'd get some nice Halloween vibes going, always a plus in my book. Don't know how it will look when it's been crocheted, but I can tell it would be gorgeous knit up in stockinette stitch. (Polyamide - pronounced PAW lee uh mide - is a fancy-pants word for nylon, and adds tensile strength to the wool.) A bucket hat! I love it. I've been wanting to sew one for quite some time now, and this crochet version looks so fun. The shawl is a little short for my taste, although of course one could always do additional rows to lengthen in. The stitch used for the bag is very interesting. It's a bit disappointing that there's no recipe this time (unless two pages were stuck together & it just got missed? OH! Did you ever try the cocoa??). This is a really good box; the best of the three you've received so far, I think.

Good morning! I know everyone gets the same first box, that way you are set up for their next boxes that require that same crochet hook, but I'm wondering now if you are on a number schedule rather than a monthly. More evidence to this would when I was looking at cancelling (not that I'm planning to) it said if you want to come back think about pausing so you don't start over if you come back, which makes me think maybe their not a traditional monthly thing. But I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually 😁 As for KZbin, they've been hiding comments, mostly yours, I often have to go searching for them. I think you can filter the comment section and that usually resets it for you to see. I figured that out the other day, when your comment on the SB was hidden from me. The yarn is beautiful, I'm excited to uae it but don't know if it's going to be a bucket hat, maybe a shawl? We'll see. Thanks for the pronunciation, I'm usually pretty quick with it, but I'm going to blame the head cold for that one. There is also no recipe this month, but I have every intention of making the cocoa when my tastebuds return to normal and not everything needs salt. It's weird how much salt I crave when I'm sick.

Are the patterns beginner friendly?

They have 3 levels of patterns in each box . The first is beginner friendly, the second is a bit harder and I haven’t tried the third 😁 so far, I have t had any trouble with the beginner patterns and I’m on my third box. Before this I only made one crochet project ever.

Wow… let me recommend that you watch a few unboxing videos before filming your own. Nearly half this video is you talking over the top of the box, why did you even film this? Honestly, it’d be nice if someone actually reviewed the box and attempted a pattern, talked about the yarn feel and the tools, shared their experiences… but this is just empty content.

Thanks for such a lovely comment. All of my thoughts and the project comes with my review of the project in 2 weeks. There are time stamps so you can skip right over my chattiness if you are so inclined. I’m new to crochet not to unboxing videos, I’ve been doing those since 2021 and I’ve found that people prefer first impressions and then more in depth thoughts after I’ve worked in something. It’s unfair to both myself and my subscribers to rush through a project just to get it all up in one video. It’s fine if I’m not for you, but others enjoy me and I’m not going to change how I do things for people who watch one video and make such lovely comments. I hope you have the day you deserve. ❤️
