As requested, classic 70's "Dueling Accordions" skit, a takeoff on "Dueling Banjos" from the movie "Deliverance".

The laugh at the end was always played when the skits were over. They say you can't go home again. But seeing this makes it pretty darn close😊

It never got better for a kid growing up in Cleveland than Hoolihan and Big Chuck on a Friday night.

I lived in Goosetown back then and went to Sacred Heart .I played drums and sang polish songs just down the street at Aetna Café with Ronnie Mistak and his brother I was 7or 8. every time I see this I crack up. The Polka Varietes take off is really funny too.

Lord, the Friday nights fixing Jiffy Pop popcorn and cherry Kool-Aid, to watch Big Chuck and Lil'John...if I remember, it was on WJW out of Cleveland, something about a giant gorilla on a WJW letter sign, and the music starting"Here we go again." I'm 67, and still remember that. Good times.....yep.

As an accordion player who is currently working on an arrangement for two or more accordions (preferably minimum of 2 in the lead) I found this to be hilarious!!! At first wondering why an accomplished player would be using such an old, tiny instrument, when he pulled it apart I burst out laughing - this was very well done!!!!! Great stuff!!!!

Grew up in Akron but moved out of state in 72. Thanks for the memories. Tulsa station did have the Unfilmy Can Festival with Gaylord Sartain and Gary Busey so didn’t get away from crazy altogether thank goodness. And I do have a Ghoolardi T shirt still.

I think l only saw them once when l was a kid. I lived Indiana and we were visiting in Cleveland. I never watched Ghoulardi, either. In 1972 or '73 we were in Cleveland again and l saw the Ghoul, who instantly became my King and Leader. The movie was "The Brain That Would Not Die."

Good guy in white, bad guy in black. :o) 'Theme from Belligerence' (obviously a take-off on the movie Deliverance and its banjo duel which was popular in that era, 1972) Accordion is misspelled as 'accordian'. The same accordion that falls apart was used by a child named Carl Ruskin on the Certain Ethnic Varieties sketch.

In the great American Rust Belt, from Lorain thru Cleveland, Akron, Youngstown, Pittsburgh, and Uniontown, it doesn't matter how you spell the name, it's only important that you pronounce it correctly, "Ackordeen!" The restless spirit of Frankie Yankovich demands respect.
