I heard that e36s piston rings like to stick in the pistons sometimes which would cause that “no compression” sound because the rings arent touching the cylinder walls anymore. That marvel mystery probably loosens up the gunk that was causing the rings to stick

I have an e36 (for drifting) and e46 (daily), could not recommend more. E36 definitely better for just thrashing and working on. E46 is slightly more complex, and intake is much more of a PITA to mess with. But if you like to wrench, you’ll love either one!

Its a trooper that car 😍 the thing with no compression is that when the cranksensor wasn't working the injector where still spraying fuel when you try to start it up. The oilfilm in the cilinders was flushed away by the fuel and thats causing the no compression. The heavily smoking was the mistery oil that was burning out of the exhaust

Had the same thing happen to my e46, car didn't start up and i cranked it a couple of times. Turns out the fuel that go into the cylinders stripped the oil coating the cylinders and made the it lose compression cuz there wasn't a good enough seal between cylinder and piston. Simply adding 1-2 table spoons of oil in each cylinder fixed the issue.

awh man i done something similar to one of my cars, over in UK we got redex fuel injector cleaner poured a cap full in each cylinder it helps clean valves and pistons and it was smoking for ages, took it for a pull and it looked like head gasket was gone the ammount of smoke that came out couldnt see shit behind xD ran noticeably smoother tho when it cleared up

Seems, that it has finally power and torque which 2.8 should have. Lifts 2nd on dry with a lot less clutchkicks and you can finally steer the slide pumping a gas pedal, not always 'pedal to the metal' :)

You don't really need an e-brake to drift if you transition before the corner and use the foot brake to control how much angle your car is at maybe you can probably make it through the corner this would work better for those who have something installed in their car to control brake bias

when i blew the turbo on my 6.0 powerstroke, i didnt clean the intercooler or so it was filled with oil still so it looked kinda like that. pinned it too the floor to test the new turbo and ive never seen more some come from a full throttle pull in my life. pulled harder then a mf though lmao

is that injector tick normal? I just swapped a S52 into my E46 and started it and I'm hearing a noise like that. I thought it was the lifters ticking but if that makes that much noise than maybe I'm good. But there is also a screeching noise that starts when my car starts to warm up coming from the engine which I cannot locate either and its not the pulleys..
