Back when I worked at a salvage yard, ppl used to come in looking for good air bags, and a ton of ppl were under the assumption that an airbag going off in your face was like a pillow. The shock in their faces when I'd show them an airbag covered in blood. Sometimes there would be about an inch thick pool of blood on the airbag, and after a few days it would look like chocolate pudding

I can't say that I know this is 100% true all the time for every car in every situation, but it's a very solid rule of thumb.

usually impact sensors are yellow. @12:26 I can see some yellow at the lower part of the radiator support. the sensor is what you need to smash! also, I think the driver seat has a pressure sensor, so you need some weight for the bag to deploy.

vrh13 I'm pretty sure the weight sensor is usually only on the passenger side. If the vehicle is running, the assumption is that there's an adult operating it, whereas you could run the vehicle with a child or no one at all in the passenger seat, which are both situations where you don't want the airbag going off. But yes, fastening the belts and weight on the passenger seat if the "passenger airbag off" light is on is the best first step. Plus maybe you can maybe get the seat belt emergency tensioner charges to blow that way, too.

the airbag sensor under the seat is to detect weight so it only sets the airbags off when there is weight in the seat, and put a tractor flap on the end of that resonator
