Ok I got you on the turn signals. 53 or 54 they become standard equipment. That particular switch is an aftermarket switch. That car did come factory with a turn signal switch and if you look on the column just above that switch you will see the threaded hole where the original lever was. The column switch probably broke at one time and someone just installed that switch that they had from another car or just because it was probably cheaper. So yes it did come factory and yes that switch is aftermarket.. Hope this helps, Hoon on gentlemen

That Regular Guy Lol it's all good buddy. Many hours spent reading hot rod magazine as a kid, and many nights spent in shops growing up rebuilding cars, and many many hours researching one little problem or detail and just clicking and clicking through page after page all night untill I realized it was 6am and I had to be at my regular job already. I just have a true passion for automobiles. And answering questions like this for people or helping to add original touches on builds that otherwise would be overlooked is what i live to do. Honestly most of the time the little things wouldn't matter, but i have a few friends that build amazing cars, but sometimes I can find the small things that would ruin a judging competition. A part that didn't come factory or even something as small as a bolt that is not period correct. Shit like that can ruin a build when the judges come out. I'm not saying I can build anything that spectacular, but i know all the stupid little things that can't get me paid.. Lol Just find you passion and peruse it, it will be rewarding to yourself, and in the end there is no one more important than yourself.

They call them shoe boxes Chevys. Kinda run of the mill basic build. At least 20 off the top of my head running around town. Bare metal, lace or candy roof, shaved handles, small block Chevy power train. The shark fin was kinda slick. Cool cat driving it.

I had a 60 over 327 in my 56, and it was more then warmed up. ran hot... you would need that big rad and the pusher to keep it street. kick ass hybrid (rod/cuztom).
