I have tried this method on the following day of watching this video. It works! I was so impressed that I have bought enough double sided sticky tape to go around the world twice! Thank you again.

Thanks for the video on a method that I will have to try, and thanks for the very useful tip on using diaper wipes for cleaning the hoops.

Isopropyl alcohol is what I found to work the best and fastest on double sided tape, 505 spray, and even the (accidentally) wet heavy water soluble stabilizer crud (even the caked on old stuff). I will have to also try the unscented diaper wipes sometime for immediate clean up post dehooping! Thanks for posting this video! You got a new subscriber here!

Hello John. Good tip. Question: with stretchy fabric i.e. a t-shirt, would you pull the fabric tight or just smooth it out to the edge and then over the tape?
@EmbroideryLegacy5 жыл бұрын
Anne Luehr with t-shirts/knits I’ll just try to smooth and not stretch the fabric. That said, I have had customers bring me tight fitted garments/toques that did need to be stretched to accommodate how it would be worn. The wonderful world of embroidery :)

This is a wonderful tip, Thank you for sharing. But, I was wondering, does the sticky tape leave a residue of your fabric at all? (I am guessing it depends on which tape you use too?)
@EmbroideryLegacy3 жыл бұрын
You are correct, the tape you use will dictate the results.

Really good idea! Does anyone know what to use to remove the temporary adhesive spray from the hoop grid insert without also removing the colored lines?
@lorenaromero232 жыл бұрын
Maybe Goo Gone?

@@lorenaromero23 Thank you - I live in Europe, so we don't have half the nifty things you have in the US! I used Turps - it worked.

what about hoop burns? I rarely hoop my fabric--
@EmbroideryLegacy5 жыл бұрын
kim Benson hoop burn generally happens when you tighten down the screw after its hooped. If you preset your hoops properly your material shouldn’t be marked. Some materials to mark more than others, in production and to this day I have Jiffy steamer. Quick hit of steam and Moro’s are gone.

I’m having issues w/ gapping in my embroidery designs (both stock images from my machine and designs that I have digitized) any ideas why? I make sure nothing is obstructing the machine, I try not to move the arm when I change needles, thread etc, I make the fabric flat when I hoop it. But always towards the end of the design, the outline at the bottom starts to gap from the design.. sigh
@7873104 жыл бұрын
you could try checking the tension of your fabric. if its correctly tensioned it would sound almost like a drum. if your fabric tension is good then you may not be accounting for push and pull correctly in your digitized file. go back to it and slightly make certain elements larger since certain embroidery designs can "shrink" and make gaps appear
