Lamelo is easily roty, not only does he leads in many stats, but the eye test shows his feel for the game and his flashy play

The hate for Melo is real, they will use his injury against him and give it to Edwards or Halliburton.

I think he doesn’t lose confidence because he feels the game and doesn’t overthink it. It’s going to make it tougher for teams to scout for his strengths and weaknesses, and put together a book to shut him down. He plays with a unique fluidity that you can’t teach. I think he’s going to be something special if he keeps focused and doesn’t get hurt. Also, he loves to play basketball. That’s important.
@calebpagan22263 жыл бұрын
He’s been doing this his whole life consistently against older competition. He isn’t about to fall off now.
@kingcapital55953 жыл бұрын
He doesn’t lose confidence because he has unlimited confidence. Just watch the old Chino Hills games. They were so sloppy. He’d brick threes, air ball threes, turn the ball over, and just generally make a lot of bad plays. But he would never get shook by it. Just on the next play. Doesn’t matter. He’d just come back down the next possession and shoot another 3, or throw another dangerous pass. And trust me no high schooler wit his type of clout as a sophomore in high school is pointing from 3 and shooting from half.

He’s been elite. He was in the same graduating class as me in high school. The first time I heard about him was when he scored 92 in a high school game. I’d say he focused more on passing when he got to Spire. He’s definitely one of the most exciting players to watch in the league

still cant believe people doubted him. lamelo being a generational passer is something a blind person couldve seen coming lmao

@goated.content3 жыл бұрын
@@junny16 BB doesnt work like that, if he passed less and scored more, he'd be way less efficient. Also you have to know averaging 28 is not a joke, only the most elite of scorers average 27 and above for a season.

Best *basketball* analysis of Lamelo I've seen. The talking heads barely scratch the surface of WHY he has been so effective. You put together a great vid with examples/explanations. Awesome as always and I keep wondering why TV content doesn't do stuff like this (they just gawk at his statline without delving into why he is able to accomplish what he does). Keep up great work

I’m curious to see how quickly he can gain muscle because he’s gained a significant amount over the last year and a half (basically since the drew league). I love the floater when he’s inside the free throw line, but the key for him will be to develop a mid range jumper when he’s behind it because you shouldn’t even shooting a floater from that deep.
@HoopIntellect3 жыл бұрын
Though it's unconventional, I personally don't have an issue with deeper floaters. Certain situations it'll increase rhythm and the unpredictability can result in a less contested shot. But you are right about him developing an actual mid-range game. Going to take major work in an offseason because I'm still yet to see him take many good ones (technique-related) on any level. That'll also help take him to the next level as a scorer. Appreciate the comment!

Loved all of it but, I hate how “15-20” pounds is thrown around in a lot of breakdowns. That’s a lot of weight to get used to hauling around at the pro level. 10 pounds is the max, maybe some body recomp and building strength without necessarily putting on mass would be best for Melo and a lot of rooks like him

Don't disagree. But over 5 years I think he can get to 190-95 pretty comfortably.
