People tend to forget Steph Curry's rookie and sophomore years were not super-star clip. Good yes- but not the MVP grade explosion he had when he got fully fit and the Warriors dynasty came online. He was also doubted coming in from a small college despite his strong NCAA run. CC has come with a bit more of a pedigree and hype than than Curry out of College - but ultimately she's good for the league. Her play style is good too. Something needed to break up the status quo as the WNBA is stagnating at a time where women's sports is starting to gain some momentum.

Yessir. Also, she is down to earth, kind, educated, polite, and professional. She is not only a good player, she is different from most WNBA players. She is a princess, and when compared to all of the annoying delusional people in the league, she comes out as fresh. Plus, she is groundbreaking as a delicate, straight girl in a league full of the opposite... which they are trying to impose. Plus, she suffers racism for being white. Jesus, she even has a storyline.

This year at the Women's NCAA tournament 17,000 people came to watch Caitlin Clark and Iowa PRACTICE! They came to watch her practice. What does that tell you folks? People want to come watch Caitlin Clark win, lose or practice! It is crazy. It is her style of play, her logo threes & her pinpoint passing. It's her enthusiasm and the joy she plays with. She loves the crowds. She loves the fans. She wants to make sure they get what they paid for and that is to watch a game that is entertaining to watch.

If the players in the WNBA want to make more money then they have to generate more excitement about the game. The WNBA officials allowing Caitlin Clark to be "man-handled" and bullied by other players without consequences to the offenders will chase away fans if Clark gets hurt and cannot play. But sadly, that seems to be the goal of players from opposing teams who cannot match Clark's skill levels so they basically bully her with moves that would be immediate cause for ejection of the offenders if it were an NBA game.

Both the NBA and WNBA suffer because they've nurtured an entitlement culture rather than a competitive one. Their rules are laughable compared to international and FIBA standards, which still adhere to most of the NBA rules from 1992. As someone between Gen Z and millennial, I'm part of their target market, but I can barely watch the games today. Instead, I tune into international competitions and rebroadcasts of games from the early 2000s and 90s. This completely changed my perspective, and now I prefer watching those older games.

BS, Personally and charisma. Clark can ball 🏀 simple. Clark is a great passer and scorer. And the Iowa team she played on is a transition team. A run and gun type of team. It is Clark style of play that have people watching. Not the way she looks nor her personality. That 80s type of ball the WNBA still plays is BORING. Relying on Bigs for excitement is relying on Boredom. Even the NBA went away from the bigs and made the NBA more guard friendly. The NBA got rid of the hand checking and Body checking the WNBA still allows. To makes the game more guard friendly. This is what the commentators DID NOT mention. Up the tempo in the W. Get them women into shape. Get rid of the hand checking and body checking. If I want to watch physicality as they put it I would watch football 🏈 I like basketball so I want to watch skill plays. @@goodnessratedbeau8147the style the wnba plays is real basketball. All of that nonsense the NBA has done has ruined the game and the ratings. The NBA was at its highest popularity when it was real basketball in the 80's and 90's. Only young casuals think no touch defense and a bunch of ill advised threes is entertaining, it's not real basketball and I don't even watch it anymore. I'll give the wnba respect for at least still letting them play real basketball which is supposed to involve defense which the NBA has removed along with rules like palming, carrying and traveling. The NBA is a joke now. They've sacrificed real basketball for so called entertainment. If I wanted to watch AND1 Mixtape basketball then that's what I would watch. Even Steve Kerr said they've removed defense from the game last season but young casuals think that's good ball and their ratings have been in the trash for years now. I honestly don't know how they're surviving. Casuals think real basketball with actual defense is boring. That's an entire generation of fans with ADD. So the wnba should change the rules so Caitlin a player that can only shoot threes offensively can score, that's weak. How about she works on a midrange game, driving left and her handles. Her best skill by far is passing but her turnovers are terrible.

Time after time she made plays that left the crowd wanting to see her do it again. The problem with lowering the rim is that you have several generations of players trained to play at a very high level on the ten-foot rim and it would be stupid to change that on them now. I just wanted to say this. I literally just got off the phone with my mom and dad. Dad and I were discussing the NBA trades. My mom asks, "Now the the NCAA tournament is over, is Caitlin Clark good enough to play in the NBA?" We said no, thats why she is in the WNBA. She then paused and asked, "There is a Women's NBA? When did that start?" She was shocked it has been around for 30 years. We asked if she was interested in watching it. She said no, the NCAA tournament was enough. That says it all. Yes CC caused a surge in interest in women's basketball, but its already dying down. I would say in a year or two, all this interest will die off.

I don't think skill level is as big of a problem. Caitlin Clark is not the best skill wise to ever walk out on a court. Her personality and attitude I think are what really set her apart from the other top WNBA players. She's not out there blaming men, and complaining about not getting more money, even at Iowa, which made her so popular to start with it was her personality and attitude. She interacts with the fans, loves the sport and has forever, and that all shows. She's a genuinely good person, that has humility and love, and fans love that and respond. So many women in sports, are angry, bitter, self adsorbed, and they think the world owes them something. That does not attract fans. Often the best male players are doing just like Caitlin, out there signing autographs, interacting with the fans, being good, happy people. This is what the WNBA really needs. Talent is not always the best measure, being an ambassador to the sport, bringing is fans by being kind towards them, and reaching out the way most sport stars do, is something everyone in the WNBA could work on, and it would lead to success. I personally watch a lot of college softball, a lot of the appeal is not that they are super talented, but they are always having fun, always working the crowd, and they have a good positivity about them. It's one of the few woman's sports that does well and a lot of it is player attitude.

Even a CC would have been completely lost if there hadn't been some fans who had put some of their games online. In addition, there is her interesting and, above all, pleasing personality. This combination has attracted attention. Only then does it become important to keep the performance up collectively in order to keep the interested people over time. Oh sure, they are more skilled, the ladies that is, but they are also less athletic than those 15 year old boys. In short, they play non-explosive, below the rim basketball. That's not engaging for the masses. Clark is playing in a way that very few people can play, at any level. She shoots from 30 feet, and in college she was shooting around 40% from beyond 3. THAT is engaging. THAT is a spectacle. THAT is something average HS boys can't and don't do. That is something most in the NBA don't do. She found a way to play the game in manner that engages men. A question/remark from a non american viewer: does anyone find normal that Adam Silver said, in an interview he gave recently, that basically: - it's good for Caitlin to be bullied - and after all it's good for the business I don't understand that coming from the commissioner. I feel a tendency to force permanently on story telling, drama and unnecessary violence. The way medias are presenting the "duel" Reese/Clark is scary. Athletes are not marvel heroes. Sports are not hunger games or battle royale. I am biased because in Europe recently, we had some criminal cases in sports industry, around money, jealousy and concurrency. I think NBA and WNBA are playing with fire. Caitlin finds herself in a sort of a brawl era, while playing in WNBA in 2024. Why is she not protected by referees, are they deliberately spicing up the show with extra violence?

It will just make her stronger. Like Jordan did because of the Pistons.

@@J.J.J.J.J.J.J it's not the problem. The fact that the league itself is promoting bad behaviors is. Things happen on a basketball floor, ok, but promoting it as a necessary part of the show? And about strengthening her personality, I don't think that it's written anywhere in Caitlin's contract that WNBA is in charge of her "education"

@@peyop5262 Not what I said. I agree with you. However you can be weakened by these things (and complain like yourself and all the other WNBA players) or you can grow stronger from these things (like Caitlin and Jordan).

11:45 There is no question. The Worst NBA team has some top college players on the team. But even a top ranked high school team could beat the top WNBA team.

I am so looking forward to Caitlin Clark to be 100 percent healthy to see her score 40 points in the game !!!because she has gotten two 30 point games so far so I am looking forward to of her being healthy again and lighting that score board up against the so called women’s team enstead of 18 year old girls team . Let’s Go Fever Team ! You got the talent in all the positions so get after it !!❤❤❤❤❤

If lowering the rim is "not" basketball, how is using a smaller ball? middle school boys even use the baby ball. Why CC sparking this uptick? Finally a true baller who is committed to the game, not the profile provided by it.

It would cost more money to give them a customized court. The ball is a lot cheaper.

Clark is not only exciting to watch, she plays more polished ball than the league has ever seen. Very few wanted to watch ghetto ball. She is raising her team to play better. You can tell she loves the game. She's the Queen who never complains, never explains. She can give a master class on how to handle any media.

The WNBA is basically less athletic, more skillful 15 year old HS boys basketball. What is "ghetto" about that? They play below the rim, but the more skillful players are far more skilled than all but the most skilled HS boys, but they are slower and can't jump etc. Clark is a spectacle, she shoots accurately from ranges very few do it from. While she isn't tremendously athletic, and is also firmly below the rim, she is shooting from ranges that excite people. "Ghetto" ball, would you care to explain what the core characteristics of "ghetto" ball are?

Wow, ghetto ball. Thats a bit of a stretch. Every player doesn't have to play with the same emotions. Some players are more animated and more emotional when they balling. Especially if they are good
