FunFact: The main colors of CRT televisions and CRT monitors were red, blue, and green. Yellow was missing from this CRT color palette, which had been replaced with green at that time. And this CRT color palette is the most likely reason why the first Pokemon games in Japan were Red, Green and Blue. But it is a pure coincidence that the Western market ended up with only Red, Blue and Yellow, but not Green. And the reason for the existence of the Yellow was the unexpected popularity of the Pokemon anime series - or so the company itself explains the fourth game.

Yeah, RGB is how humans see light, with three cones in our eyes with each of those colors. The color of CRT TVs and almost every screen in existence since then has RGB because of our cones. The Pokemon games likely had nothing to do with that whatsoever, and the games colors were picked from the starters, not from some CRT TV thing that's entirely unrelated to Pokemon

I don't think Hisui will get its own spinoff anime. Maybe a short KZbin series a la Twilight Wings, but that's about it. Wouldn't mind Dialga or Celebi (most likely Celebi, since we just had a Dialga and Palika arc) sending Ash and Goh back in time to Hisui, but I'm not holding my breath for that one.

I think Green would fit more as a secondary color name if it was actually Red and Blue that was released in Japan first with Green being the "improvement version;" without taking into account the fact that their Pokemon Blue officially released quite a bit before Yellow.

So aka and midori (red and green) were released first in Japan with some minor bugs and glitches. Ao or Pokémon blue was the third game released with some updates from the bugs that were in the first two games as well as some fixed monster and character art updates. When we got Pokémon red and blue it was actually red and green with all the updates from the blue version.

Well since you asked, My favorite Pokemon games are (in no particular order) Pokemon Silver, Pokemon Platinum, and Pokemon Sun. Silver was the first Pokemon game that I beat without any outside help from a friend or guide. I still remember looking all over Johto for every secret I could find. Pokemon Diamond was great, but I prefer the added story elements in Platinum. It gives so much depth to the characters, and I love how expansive Sinnoh is. Pokemon Sun was a blast to play and a breath of fresh air. I love the humor, the setting, and the characters in Alola. So, yeah. Silver, Platinum, and Sun are my favorite Pokemon games.

Just as an FYI, Hoops, there are two different groups of primary colours. One of them is the primary colours of paint: red, blue and yellow. The other one is the primary colours of light: red, blue and green. Not specifying which group one can cause confusion.

The Japanese demanded to add the japanese logo in american versions, because they found out that americans keep mesing up the pronunciation of the name Arceus calling it ArKeus. So they wrote the name also in japanese so it wouldn't be an argument. In Japanese it actually reads ARuSeUSu. They use the katana セ=Se not Ke. The name also makes reference to Zeus. Arch meaning Higher, and Zeus the main god of the greeks. And you don't pronounce the Zeus as Keus, right?? So the japanese are letting everyone know that the correct pronounciation is ArSeus.😇

I think the beta name for Unova was inspired by Aeolus and Aeolia. Aeolus is a god know as the keeper of the winds and protector of the island Aeolia. And, Aeolus is often depicted in art as anthropomorphic cloud, which makes sense with the cities named after clouds.

I remember during Gen IV, well before Arceus had been officially revealed, the way I found out about it was through a video on youtube of an emulator. No commentary. Just a clip of a Dialga being sent out against a wild Level 2 Starly. Dialga used Roar of Time, and one shot the Starly. It got an ABSURD amount of EXP, and leveled up a huge number of times. Once the battle was over, it evolved into Arceus. From that point onwards, until a WHILE later, I was convinced that Arceus was actually the evolution of Dialga. I told my friends who were into Pokemon, they didn't believe Arceus was real. A few months later, the movie trailer for Arceus and the Jewel of Life dropped.

The fact is, there is a Japanese Blue version. It came out at the same time as the international Blue version. So it's not very accurate to say "Japan had Pokemon Green instead of Blue". Also if you consider the original colors from light, Red, Green, and Blue are actually the three original colors. Pokemon Yellow was the last one added and is the odd ones out. I just want to point out you using an American perspective to talk about the original games of Japanese game series as "facts" is actually not quite fair. They originated from Japan so the fact is Japan has all four colors while the international version only had 3 colors.

With the Green/Blue thing, those colors are also somewhat considered interchangeable in Japan. The word "aoi" which means blue can be used to refer to green things as well but you can't use the word for green "midori" for blue things. actually, i think "alleos" has the same origin as the german name for unova. its called einall - if you switch the syllables around its "allein" which means alone. its referencing how unova is far away from other regions and thats why there are exclusively new pokemon :)

Speaking of the Japanese logo, I'm sure Hoops don't read Japanese, what makes the Legend Arceus logo so different is the fact that prior to this game, the Japanese logo never written the term "Pokemon" (which is ポケモン in Japanese) on the Logo. In fact all the Japanese pokemon game logos use the term Pocket Monster (ポケット　モンスター) not Pokemon.

Most of these aren't facts, they're opinions or theories. Green came out before Blue or Yellow, so it being some sort of "mix" to symbolize connectivity is some off the loosest threads I've ever seen. Yellow only happened because of Pikachu and the anime, and there's evidence that Pink version was in the works from beta leaks.

How's you not mention the obvious hint on the titles Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl in Sword and Shield? Brilliant Pokémon are those with the yellow aura that have better IVs and give Watts after defeating/ catching them. And those are the ones with boosted Shiny odds (with up to 500 KOs) Brilliant Pokémon that are more likely Shiny It doesn't get much more obvious than that I guess 😅
