@@EldenLord. Yeah they'll likely be heavy... But will they be any good without their interesting guitar riffs to carry Tim's, at times mediocre, vocals. I remember listening to Frail Words Collapse, and then later Shadows are Security.. The only thing that kept me listening until I had a good appreciation for them and started loving their music, were the guitar riffs.... Tims vocals were sooo monotonous and really just not very good on those albums (OK not very good was not at all the right words, what I meant was captivating.. Not very captivating. His vocals didn't draw you in and make you want to keep listening). Now, granted, he did get better.. Or they learned more recording tricks... But I'd argue that the guitar riffs, and the dude that sings, I forget who that is, definitely still carry this band. If they don't get like... Jason Richardson to quit All That Remains (of this band is pure GARBAGE!) and join them.. Which now that I'm thinking it, holy TITS is that a *damn good idea!* Anyway.. If they don't get someone of that caliber, or at least on par with Nick... It's gonna be a wash for me. I already haven't been digging their newest stuff as much, I really liked parallels a lot but... Actually hold that, I don't even think I've listened to any of it. Holy crap... I just realized that, after An Ocean Between Us, I haven't listened to anything AILD put out because I thought for some reason that I HAD and that it was garbage! Woooooooooow dude! Don't blame me OK! A ton of bands were switching their sounds, mainly to softer BS, and becoming absolute *trash* at the time and I thought AILD had as well for some reason.. That's hilarious, I've got some music to listen to! In my defense I was listening to a different type of music heavily so I wasn't too worried about metalcore... My point still stands about the guitarist. Anyway, gotta run! ... Where are my good headphones now.

The only explanation I have for why this wasn't on the album, is because they knew nick was gonna leave. I have a feeling they saved it for him to send him off right, because he shreds so hard in this one. Might be the nastiest song I've heard from them and I've been a fan since through struggle. Well done.

Actually it was unfinished at the time. I think Phil recorded both guitar parts and they put it together in the studio.

I love AILD, they are one of my biggest influences and I’ve followed them since Beneath the Encasing of Ashes… but this sounds cookie cutter for them. The chorus almost indistinguishable from some of their other songs. Even the main riff is sort of throw away. The solo shreds though! Maybe I’ve grown numb to their sound now.

Older AILD is better imo. They're good still obviously but their songs and sound as good as it is gets repetitive. I dont feel them as a band anymore. A band I do feel now though is IMMINENCE.

I will sadly have to agree with you. I mean, I loved Shaped By Fire and this song is OMG! Straight Fire! But I feel like this kind of sound is repetitive as well. Shadows Are Security, The Powerless Rise (my absolute and personal favorite) and other albums had a lot more varied, mixed and classic elements that shaped fine into what they wanted the album to be like, but this one (SBF [Shaped By Fire]) seems to show the same structure for almost every song.
