Dude, your content is easily the best free basketball analysis out there. The idea of showing us a play, asking us how it will end, and holding the answer until you teach us what is likely to happen is a great way to keep us entertained, as if we weren't already. Broke college student here, but I fully intend on supporting as soon as I can. All the best man, absolutely LOVE your stuff.

I love this team so much. As soon as I saw them for the first time against UMich I was convinced they were one of the best teams in the country, and every single time I’ve watched them since they just look better and better. Koloko, Tubelis, and Mathurin are all unbelievable. Koloko is the most athletic big I’ve ever seen, I’d be shocked if he’s not a top 10 pick. Mathurin and Tubelis are both just gifted scorers and great defenders too. Then you have playmaking and shooting in Kriisa and Terry, and great depth pieces with Ballo, Kier, and Larsson. Just so fun to watch

Arizona vs Gonzaga would be great to see, especially since Tommy Llyod was an assistant at Gonzaga for years and now this is his first year with Arizona.

I think Koloko's stock had to go up significantly when he shut down one of the other rising stars in the NCAA in Jaquez for UCLA for the first half of the Pac-10 championship game. A big that is 7'1" being able to guard a small forward on the perimeter and the ability of their bigs to switch out on guards and still handle themselves well speaks well to their chances of going deep into the tourney.

What arizona is running is continuity dribble handoff/ball screen with triangle concepts. The screener who sets the pin down to free up the handoff just cuts thru and it becomes perpetual motion. It's basically what Gonzaga has run in most of their past seasons, and it's awesome to see tommy lloyd bring it to Zona, because it's obviously successful. It's hard to stagnate in that offense.

This is probably my favorite video I've seen you do Jordan. It's hilarious how obvious the parallels between Gonzaga and Arizona are given Lloyd's history, but you do such an awesome job explaining them on a deeper, but understandable level.
@baseballpimp19102 жыл бұрын
It’s wild that in order for Arizona to reach a high level of basketball again they had to hire an assistant coach from a school far far smaller than them to succeed but I guess that says a lot about the Zags. Either way I’m glad Arizona made the less flashy but correct hire instead of hiring some big name alumni. Sean Miller left Lloyd one hell of a group of players but Lloyd is doing more with these guys than any other coach would have. Every year Gonzaga brings in power five level recruits and plays this same fun style but they get little credit because of the conference they are STUCK in due to their circumstances as a small school. Arizona is proving with a roster of similar talent that Gonzaga could also find this same success in the PAC 12 with this same style of play. Sorry to rant about GU on an Arizona video but the Wildcats had to hire Gonzaga’s twenty year assistant and use Gonzaga’s same principles to become a contender again. And I’m not saying they couldn’t have reached contention with a different coaching hire but I bet they had to swallow a lot of pride to copycat the style of a school three times smaller than them at least. I enjoy that fact a lot as a Zag fan

Can't wait to see this team in march. Even when Arizona makes a good assisted look it seems like something else is open/the next action could work. Also, the big sealing out the defense for an open lane to the basket is just really pretty, love seeing easy buckets in a crowded paint. The bell stays on because this is what basketball analysis should be. You need the context to truly understand those nerdy graphs 🤣
@kurttuchscherer77062 жыл бұрын
The difference between last year and this year is the coach. Tommy Lloyd knew he was getting a perfect team for the style of play he wants. Not knocking Sean Miller, but he played a guard oriented offense every play would have been run through Mathurin. It is much easier to defend when you know who is going to get the ball.

Would be interesting to see you look into the Montana States offense this year. It’s almost the complete opposite of what you generally preach on this channel, ranking 263rd in transition offense but 36th in the half court. 2nd in SLOB scoring, 2nd in catch and shoot, and 17th in handoffs per synergy. A generally old fashioned style that has led to winning 20 of last 22.

Arizona is the elite of the west and Gonzaga is the little brother and a good little brother at that… ‘97 national champs and ‘01 finalists we had Lute Olsen like Mark Few both “HALL OF FAME” Coaches Few like Olsen came to a program and turned into a power house and it’s funny that people think the last 10 years was the coming out party of the Zags but really it’s been since ‘98… love the team (Gonzaga I’m talkin bout)but Arizona been doing this since 1984..
