Love your videos! If you are getting tight…. Practice in your own time riding at the same race speed,.. straight from when you practice from your parked car… just for 10 mins at a time. you need to be calm.. don’t stress yourself..and also be mindful of your body position under breaking and acceleration so that your body movements are working to reduce the weight of the bike.. meaning,… if you’re braking.. lean right back.. every time you’re about to accelerate.. obviously you’re standing… move your body weight forward.. conserve as much energy as possible. every uphill needs to be standing.. every time you are sitting you’re wasting energy.. hope that helps

Have a couple of stiff drinks before the race and you’ll be plenty “loose” the first lap. Now the second lap I’m not too sure 🤔😂

You need to add a catch tank some where on that bike. That being said I am betting on the aftermarket head as the culprit. Oh and when I was racing I was tight and nervous the 1st lap too. I got through it to win district championships.
@benjaminnielsen52653 жыл бұрын
Bummer man. I suspect that your cap came off, you lost coolant and overheated. I would guess that the exhaust bridge is cracked in your cylinder and that you warped the head. I would assume that your piston will appear to have the beginnings of a exhaust side sieze with a chunk of ring land chipped at the exhaust bridge. The head is why it was drinking coolant. Also, the bottom of you piston crown will likely be very black.

You are fast in the tighter stuff, the enduro style terrain; where the track is open more gncc style, it takes you sometime to build confidence and flow.

@matthewsmith51093 жыл бұрын
Maybe try sticking to the main lines on 1st lap and not taking so many alternative lines right off the bat. It looks like a lot of the alternative lines you take on the 1st lap send you between really tight trees and you're having to slow down to make sure you squeeze through them. Most of the passes that were made on you in the very first part of the race were made from the main race line. Bobbit for example, he took the main line while you were in an alternate line and he just blew by. Try saving the alternate lines for the later laps when track has gotten rougher. Just an observation. You're still blazing fast bro. Keep at it. You're getting better and better.

I have never had good riding with engine ice. Thats what I think you were using. Prestone 50/50 worked great for me. And its cheaper.. I could be wrong but I had no probs with overheating once I switched.

If the rad cap was not properly closed, you would slowly loose coolant until it overheated and you would not even notice it until too late. Likely blew head gasket and possibly warped the head. Also maybe scuffed cylinder etc. Total top end rebuild likely, but hey, that's just a regular "tune up" on a 125. Good luck. Use genuine Yamaha components to prevent future problems.

Yes there isn't much to the cooling system, radiators hoses, water pump and seal and head gasket. Don't think the YZ's have a thermostat like the european bikes. That low and that hot it's trashed.

Here is an idea if you want to never run out of battery on your races. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y2GmqWBvpdRnj6M

Evans coolant, problem solved
@Bryan-Hensley3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely not. Evans doesn't carry near as much heat as regular antifreeze or water. You need twice the water flow. I can't remember the exact numbers. It's something like 200 BTUs per pound of Evans vs 1,100 BTUs per pound for distilled water and around 800 BTUs per pound of regular antifreeze. You can cook a motor with Evans..
