Hoover SmartWash - Troubleshooting Unit Not Dispensing Issues

Pretty good video, good basic tips to try, but the upholstery attachment still does not dispense. I put my mouth right on the dispenser tube that plugs into the unit and blew. Airtight. Squeezed the dispense trigger and it passed air without resistence. Then i sucked on it, squeezed the trigger, and got a few drops of that delicious brown capet soup in my mouth. My lips arent big enough to suck or blow into the port where my pen goes, but still, nothing flows out of it when i poke it with a pen. Other than this, the unit has been working extremely well.

Hey, that is an odd scenario. Try rinsing both ends of your hose under warm water to get rid of any build up or debris that could be clogging it. If that doesn't help, please chat with one of our agents on Hoover.com

Mine is doing the same thing. No water comes out of the valve when it's pushed with a pen

Hey, I'm not sure I understand your question. Are you having trouble installing the cleaning solution tank?

I followed these steps as my machine is no longer dispensing water or cleaning solution. None of it worked. Whats gets me really upset is that i only used this machine once last year to clean wll the carpets in the house. After using, i ran water theough the machine and made sure everything dried thoroughly before storing it away for a year. Im technically savy and decided to take them nachine apart as best as i could without damaging it. I was able to determine that the upper internal water and solution tubes were not clogged. The adapter passing through the mixing device in the upper portion of the machine seemed fine too, but the single hose going down into the lower body was clogged with water/cleaner. I tried blowing on that tube without success, it wouldn't budge. Then i took apart the bottom and found the tube that feeds into sprayer completely dry. I tried blowing into that and nothing happened complete resistance. I wasnt able to get into the lower body of the machine to determine what is blocking it up, but put everything back together without issue and tried running it again.... Still nothing it dries without a problem but no longer cleans. Neither the wand with hose or the main carpet cleaner spray water/solution. Very unsetting.

Hey delmorath, we are sorry you're having this issue and I'm glad you were able to find where the clog was, unfortunately opening the unit voids the warranty so we won't be able to explore that option. However, I could recommend running the unit with hot water only to try and break down the buildup causing the clog

@hooverhelps2048 I wasn't worried about the warranty. Just trying to figure out how to get to the clog.
