For the last 20 yrs I’ve been teaching Political Science in a California State University with a majority Latino student body. Concurrently the faculty and administration became Marxist which i pointed out to my students was packaged as DEI/social justice. They were being pulled in two directions - their professors were dissing the family, religion and patriotism their culture honors. Over the last three years or so, I noticed a change in thinking among my students and many changed their political beliefs towards conservatism.

Wow what a great talk post cast. Thank you for talking about us the Hispanic voters. I was so disappointed in 2016 when they failed to vote for Trump, I thought they were failing this country voting for Biden. That year I lost some friends, they didn’t want to know anything about Trump. 😅

Purely anecdotally, my left leaning Central American tenant was swayed to vote Republican primarily because of the issue of trans athletes and the sort of education California was pushing on her children. I got the feeling that they had crossed the line with her. I don’t know how widespread this is, of course.

Has someone with no ancestry from South America, I thought that Hispanic meant people who speak Spanish. Meaning the term Hispanic excludes people from Brazil. Well Latino includes them as Portuguese is still a Latin language.

But Spanish is derived from Latin. Similar to how English is considered a Germatic language. Also do you consider Brazilian Hispanic? Or are they your own separate thing?

Why are we confusing "legal" with "illegal" immigration?

The one thing that baffles me is why the people that take poles assume that the people giving the information are telling the truth. If I was being interviewed, I damn sure would tell the truth. Why would I? What motivation would I have to tell the truth?

Latinos for Trump is like Pine trees for Santa Claus. When Christmas is over, it doesn't end well

Latino looks the traditional race-based Anglospheric civilization division. Instead you prefer Hispanos that is itself a civilization coming from European, Indigenous, Black and Asian under the values of Spanish language and Catholic faith.

The only reason for the terminology Latino is the intent of the French trying to establish their influence during Napoleon III invasion of Mexico. Anti Spanish cultural warfare of the time. Spanish is without doubt a Latin origin language but what people speak and unites them is certainly not Latin.

American citizens who have Latino or Hispanic ancestry, or more recently came here, want to vote Conservative. Trump is short-sighted if he deports Hispanics who are not yet citizens, because in the future they will vote R more than D. Not only that, he is angering those Hispanics who are already citizens. I think he listens to advisers who are Democrats, and they know full well about the future voters.

As someone one who lived in the neighborhood with a lot of immigrant families from Cuba and Venezuela I can assure you that they don't like illegal immigrants.

No, Latinos are against ILEGAL immigration. That's why they voted for Trump. In addition that we Latinos don´t like woke and progressive ideologies, another reason to vote for Trump. As long as Dems keep turning to the left and wokism Latino will keep running away from them.
