@@koolaiddude7685894I remember reading an inside info that Hooxi actually was trying to make a “family” out of the G2. Talking about everything after games, trying to resolves everyone personal concerns and wishes and etc. I remember Gla1ve doing somewhat the same with Astralis. Not just like “go train, do better”. But actually be more than just the team outside of the matches. Hooxi IS the goat.

I don't understand why G2 didn't opt for Niko IGL wirh Hooxi as a sort of IGL coach for him. This literally would have been the best IGLing setup for Niko, with Hooxi's coaching. Would have avoided all the role clashes as well.

they fucked over hooxi with the jks move. Jks was one the best anchor in the world, he was litterally the bread for the sandwich of g2. does that explain him not being on the team and them winning with a historically bad performance from nexa and a similar rating from stewie? Clearly just niko and monesy is enough firepower. Fact is they dont have enough coordination. Spacing is off way too often and leads to a multikill from the other team
@yvngfantom5855
@yvngfantom5855 Ай бұрын
@@captainminecraftist Except imagine if you have jks instead of that nexa doodoo performance, then you win things like IEM Kato and Cologne in the same year :// - they could win, and tbh if they "fixed" non-verbal jks which apparently was a huge problem and fixed their team mood they wouldve probably had those kato/cologne performances all the time
@captainminecraftist
@captainminecraftist Ай бұрын
@@yvngfantom5855 so he needs 3 top 20 players doing 1.2 ratings to win (cologne). That’s not props to the igl that’s an indictment. The only tournaments he’s won have been when the individuals are just on another level. The one tournament they won this year was without that next level playing, in fact nexa and stewie were some of the worst rated players at the event. That shows they don’t need jks fragging to win, they need to play as a team

If HooXi doesn't get into a "tier 1" team later this year, I want him to build a new long term project with an org that hasn't entered CS2 yet. Get HooXi with maybe three rookie prospects at least and a good coach, that team could cook to potentially towards eventually a top 10 team

13:45 This doesn't make the Hooxi move make sense. They didn't win Dallas because stewie or nexa stepped up, they won because Niko and Monesy did. That duo is G2's whole identity. They won clutches, which is what G2 *need* to do for their lineup to make sense. If Hooxi calls a round and get's a 3v3 or 2v2 with Niko and Monesy alive, then he's done his job. This is exactly what Karrigan was praised for during Faze's dominance. I never understood the Hooxi hate.. there were almost no big tournaments where his individual level let the team down. Yes his stats looked bad when they lost, but that is because he never stopped trying to win. He never stopped trying to set up Niko, even when Niko was having an off game (common in recent months), so his stats spiralled. As IGLs go, his eye test performance is not worse than most. His system was perfect for the individual high-IQ CS that his stars can play. He called circles around Snappi at Cologne. Niko was pretty much absent from Paris and Copenhagen, Monesy was absent from Paris. They could have even won Copenhagen had jL not had the best few maps of his career, but that's just speculation. I think the Nexa move makes sense, he never should have been on the roster and seemed like a last minute panic buy becuase JKS had to go. The Hooxi move is a huge gamble, and seems unnecessary. I just hope it pays off for the sake of Monesy and Niko's careers at G2.

Feels really bad to see my favorite player from the new generation leave G2. Hopefully he becomes a coach somewhere. But if someone like ex6tenz never got a chance, it's very possible Hooxi just slowly faded away from the spotlight. Richard Lewis fans rejoice. I never understood why Hooxi received so much hate. It wasn't even about his play. When he wins an event there's always something to discredit the whole thing. I've lost a lot of respect for Richard Lewis after this whole roster shuffle fiasco. Even though it is possible that he might've established a system for G2 to flourish, I don't think his IGLing was enough to offset his fragging. At the beginning you compare him to karrigan with the "flirting v harassment" meme, but in reality he just hasn't proved he has the chops like karrigan does. Yes, he won 3 major tournaments (with a possible asterisk of those being at the "end" of CSGO), but I never saw in his game "wow" calls or felt his impact like in many other IGLs. To be fair, I think I'd be proven wrong if he did a CPH Flames 2.0, but for now I think that even though he has a commendable career, I think it was mostly the fruit of the pieces he had. Even then, I think this was a great video and "historic" pieces like this are always a great add to the community. Hope to see you do more of this kind of content!

He lacks the intangible but crucial 'leadership' quality that sometimes has less to do with understanding the game and more to do with individual personality. This is a quality that elevated classic IGLs like Fallen, Zeus, and Pronax. Sure he can hype his teammates and perhaps coordinate site executions, but if you are thinking of a leader you'd follow to hell and back, Hooxi is not the first person to pop into your mind. If you can find a rare IGL with both fantastic tactical gamesense and innate leadership qualities, you will create another era.
