An extract from a DVD produced for Heathwood Studios on hop picking in Kent and Sussex from the 1930s to the 1960s. Hops were once Kent's biggest industry and thousands of Londoners travelled down in fleets of lorries and trains to work in the Garden of England. It was known as 'the Londoners' Holiday'.
