Klaus loved Hope with all his heart and even though he didnt like alaric or get on he would be happy that alaric is looking after his daughter and is there for her. He wouldn't want her to be alone.

She has lost her uncle, her father, her mother, her youth and innocence and her peaceful life to the supernatural. They both have killed. Many. Because they needed to. And they have been very alone. I feel like Lizzie and Josie take Alaric for granted because they don’t truly know what it’s like to lose a parent, and in season 1 they blamed Hope for him not spending time with them but even after they forgot her it seemed like they they weren’t as close as they should have been like especially Lizzie but Hope since she knows what it’s like to lose parents and she has this great father daughter relationship with Alaric she seems like she will always be closer with him that his daughters

Elena is not dead - its stated in Legacies that her and Damon are raising their own family, and so they can't help much with the school. Legacies is set somewhere in-between Elena waking up and the final scene of TVD.

Elena and Damon are not dead... The ending scene of tvd was a time jump. They still live in mystic falls and have a daughter named stefanie

In TVD, the timeline was 2009 - 2018 Which made most of the kids in TVD around 16-17 in the beginning of the show and at the end made them 24-25. In The Originals, the timeline was 2011 - 2026, making Elena and her friends around 32-33 in 2026 In the Legacies timeline which is 2030 - on, it would make them 36-37. Alaric’s ages in TVD ; 34 in 2010 and since he was turned into a vampire; he didn’t age for 2 years (2012). In 2013, he was 35. So in 2018 it was make him 40. The Originals; in 2011-2012 (he was still a vampire, not aging). in the end of the originals series (which is 2026), would make him 48. In Legacies, there’s a mistake in the timeline saying it’s flash forwarded only 2 years but if it was flash forwarded only 2 years, it would make Josie and Lizzie only 14 at the beginning of season one of legacies but shown in 1x14, it showed the twins having their Sweet 16, making it 2030, not 2028 that legacies is set in, making Alaric, 52.

No i don't think Malivore can affect the dead. I believe that Hayley and Klaus didn't forget Hope. Remember when Landon died in the lake in 2x01. He had flash memories of Hope. So if Landon remembers bits and pieces of Hope everytime he dies. Then i think since Hayley and Klaus are dead they'll never forget their daughter Hope.
