I think she was right to do so, though it must have tortured her immensely…. But people NEEDED to see the evil for what it is. Even now, what she did tears at our heartstrings and makes us see things in a new light. As far as the sickos who did this to little Emmett getting away with it…I think of the Bible verse “vengeance is mine, sayeth the Lord”, and I believe that God has the last say in what happens/or already has happened to those evil people.

Just like Medgar Evsns who was shot as he got out of his car at his home. Bryan Dela Beckworth was charged. It took 30 plus years he was found guilty. When Mr. Evers body examined after being in the ground for 30 plus years it looked like he had been buried that morning. God does work in mysterious ways that only he knows. As for Carolyn who lied I'm not her judge. When one word from a white woman accusing a black man or boy meant certain death.

I really am highly perplexed witnessing such hatred throughout the centuries in our country. It is a ironic tragedy that slavery slavery was implemented and forced by the Europeans with such brutal and humane treatment. Now here we are now in 2021 and racism is at all time high and the hatred has never been diminished even though we African Americans have overcome so many obstacles deliberately planted in our path. Honestly I can say I'm glad that I'm not part of the participants of the legacy of hate I will also admit and not forget that throughout the history of our tragedies that have been white allies as well and I will say that..

I see Tom Brokaw in the program. I have long wondered why he never makes the connection that many of the people fighting against integration and civil rights were the same people he labeled "the greatest generation." the people who went to Europe to fight against fascism, oppression, the rights of people of the world to live free, and who saw the results of the holocaust, returned to America, upheld and fought for the same kind of principles they fought against "over there." the majority of the greatest generation were monsters, and not just in thr south. in government; federal, state, and local - as well and throughout the corporate world - created, maintained, and institutionalized racist policies that held back black people, especially, but all minorities in general; some of which persist today. black men are still being lynched by police and civilians alike. we must still go to extreme measures in attempts to hold these murderers accountable - afterwards. he goal of white supremacy is a the root of so much of the political turmoil we are seeing today. scores later, we are still fighting these same fights because people refuse to live up to what this country's founding documents, subsequent laws and court precedents say this nation is supposed to stand for and afford ALL its citizens. one day, Lord, one day.

Can you imagine the horror and terror that went through this young mans mind, as he suffered and was tortured to death. We are all not human beings, some of us are true evil demons and monsters disguised as human beings that walk amongst us, even in 2021. Nobody can choose who their parents are, so hating another human being because they look different than you, is absolutely insane. Me as a black man, I choose to gravitate towards other good human beings. Both evil/bad, and good people are both represented in every race, nationality, culture, and religion.

Respect for leaving the GOP. Seems like you have seen the party for what it is and learned that you are better than living in hatred like so many GOP voters. Thats a sign, small as it may be, that some can and do learn. One by one, we will work together to teach the ignorant, blinded by hatred and fear that they will not be handed everything for being white, and told that they are better than other people for the same reason. It will never be over, but progress has been made, can be made and will continue to be made, one person at a time.

I am glad to see that this segment adds the word "white" or "whites" when explaining who stood in the way of African Americans exercising their Civil Rights. Often times the story goes "Blacks were terrorized." or "Blacks were denied entry to schools where they paid taxes" instead of saying "white americans in the town XYZ" terrorized and denied African Americans all of these things. Reading white america into each and every segment of these stories is essential.
