The point is for the child's sake, to allow them to get accustomed rather than terrifying them by plunging them into the arms of a stranger. Immediately handing them over would be utterly terrifying. A mother knows this. If you're a kid I give you a pass on your comment but if you are an adult, with a comment like that you have guaranteed that I would never let you around my kids

They need to vet the couples much earlier on then hand over the child when she/he is newly born or up to 4 months old. That way the child is not traumatised when yanked from their normal environment . It’s hard for the child when the child is in America and requires a lot of patience and understanding by the parents . I’m sure this couple are lovely but what about couples who don’t have that patience and understanding towards the child ? These adoption agencies make a fortune . It costs from 60k to 150k to adopt a child from abroad .

I disagree completely. I have 5 adopted daughters, 2 from China and 3 from Cambodia. Their ages when they came home were 18 months, 2 years, 2 1/2 years, 5 years and 9 years. They all adjusted quickly with lots of love and patience. The 9 yr old who spoke no English was reading in 2 weeks. The 5 year old only attended Kindergarten in America for 3 months and graduated at the top of her class. She is now a professor at a University. When we adopted the cost was $10,000 to $25,000 depending on the agency and whether or not you did the paperwork yourself like we did or hired someone to do it. There is a great need for parents to adopt children who are older and they should not be discouraged by people like you and your lack of knowledge! Peace 🕊️

But what about the children who aren't available at that young age? Just leave them where they are? No. It's difficult for an older baby, but it's about the ultimate outcome of being adopted, not about the difficulties they must overcome initially. If we played by your rules, these children would never be adopted, and be a lot more traumatized due to neglect or God knows what. I think it's more of a benefit than a trauma overall.

@nancybusso6171 We are all so impressed. 🙄 Why do you feel the need to criticize anything at all? Do you not realize this is over and done? What do you hope to accomplish? Just need attention or want to seem superior? Big fail on the latter

Beautiful story! I adopted 5 daughters from Asia….2 from China and 3 from Cambodia. My only criticism is your attire. Before I went to both countries I researched what the appropriate attire would be. I would never have worn shorts to any meeting. I dressed up each time. In Cambodia women wear long dresses or pants and never show bare feet or arms so I wore long skirts, etc. Bless your beautiful family!

Well the woman is not you.. she can dress how she wants to.

@@kellymichael2559 I said what I did for future reference and food for thought for others thinking about adopting from another country. When traveling to another country you should show respect for their traditions. I have traveled extensively in Asia and have always been respectful of the people, their traditions, hand motions, clothing, how they honor their elders and religious leaders such as monks. It is simply just being respectful.

Is it better to pay attention to what a person is wearing or not wearing, versus their willingness to adopt a child no matter where the child is from??? Bless them for taking the child into their family!
@nancybusso617119 күн бұрын
@ I have been in Asia several times adopting my 5 daughters and have always dressed according to the attire of the country I was in so as to respect that country and its customs. I had to meet several times with officials from that country and wanted to show them that I respected the people and their values. So many countries have closed their doors to Americans adopting and I didn’t want to do anything to stop children from coming home to loving families. It’s called respect!

Ваш комментарий совершенно верный! Эти дети должны оставаться в своих странах!
@cherrymetha31854 ай бұрын
Some countries get the adoptive parents to visit the child daily for a few weeks . Then the child gets used to the new parents and isn’t traumatised when the child leaves the orphanage. Also as the child has bonded with their new parents and trusts them , the transition to a new environment is much smoother for the child .
@cherrymetha31854 ай бұрын
@@nataliyasadovskaya5090Unless it’s an older child , the child has no concept of what a country even is ! The new parents need to bond with the child for a few weeks then the transition of being with new people and a new environment isn’t so traumatic for the child . People in these poor countries struggle to feed themselves and their natural children ,they can’t afford to adopt and feed and clothe another child. The rich people in these countries would rather have their own children and it’s often a taboo to have adopted children in their families . Also these adoption agencies make a fortune from adopting kids out to foreigners. Nonetheless, children need a home and loving parents . And when they are adopted by foreigners the children have a world full opportunities for their future which they wouldn’t necessarily have in their own countries and if they grew up in an orphanage . Overall it’s a positive and wonderful for the children to be adopted by foreigners.
