Chad, I ran cattle for many many years! (30+-) I believe your commentary is spot on about weaning calves off of there mommas! I tried the theory of separation of cows and calves by several miles and the correct almanac sign. You might guess what I found in with the calves? Yeah!! The cows crossed five farms and a river to get to their babies! Yeah!! Not only was I dumbfounded but also embarrassed! Granddad would say, why change it if it works for you?! That was the first and last time I would ever do it again! I had always kept them within sight of each other or side by side when weaning them and a good fence. Lesson learned! Friendly advice I’ll pass to you from Grandad. If it ain’t broke then don’t fix it! Paul said this to his brethren in Philippi, I can do all things through Jesus Christ who strengthens me! God bless! You and Rae give me so much joy and spiritual strength!

I wasn’t going to comment until I heard you say someone actually said to you, “how would you feel if someone took Adler”……… WHAT ON GODS GREEN EARTH🤪. Anyway, Chad you did an excellent job. To whoever said that terribly inappropriate comment, we’ve been Ranchers for generations (Black Angus) and my daddy always separated the calves from their mammas as soon as they were eating more grass or hay, whichever than they were nursing and of course there’s a reasonable amount of time and sometimes it just depends on the mamma’s or baby’s health, anyway to sum my rant up…. Please please don’t judge someone’s way of doing something especially if youv never lived their experience and trust that no matter what Chad and Rae are and will always take care of whatever needs to be done. GOD BLESS YALL😇🙏🏻🙏🏻

Whoever made that comment doesn't understand that cows mature much faster than humans 🙄. A cow/bull is able to have their own babies by the time they are a year old. It is nowhere near the same as taking a young child from their parents. Some people are just too ignorant.

Chad I like the fence very much. It adds to the property. I just want to make a suggestion. After I get the fence up I go back and screw a 1x4 on each posts on top of the rails. Sometimes that treated wood draws up and tries to come loose, so the 1x4 will hold it in place better. Love all the babies. I miss my animals. Lost my 41 yr old horse 2 yrs ago and my 2 German Shepherd in April.. Love your farm and family. Adler is a little you.😊 ❤️🫶❤️ Eastern NC 🇺🇸
@TheCraftydevilSpeaks3 ай бұрын
I love the wood fence too. Looks awesome, but when I saw it for the first time I thought the same thing, a 1x4 on the outside of the post where the rails meet. It helps prevent curling and splitting on the ends, especially where the screws are. We didn’t have cows, but I worked on a horse farm (and went a trade school for horses) and I helped build paddock fences and the boss taught us that it made the fence stronger and more resilient to splitting. We also treated the rail ends before screwing them on the post by dipping them in a bucket of creosote.

Missed the live but ok to comment after too. Let's me add points i may have missed being too quick to comment :) Adler is right, Lil Dude IS a VERY adorable lil guy. It's cool that Carter doesn't want to be on camera but we sure hope he overcomes that shyness with some encouragement ;) We don't get to see EVERYTHING in your day (thank goodness, right? LOL) but I hope he at least gets to spend some time helping with the farm animals (if he is into it of course). Rae was(is) a lil shy sometimes too but these ladies in the groups have done a fine job encouraging her confidence. Y'all are a blessing in my day to "unwind" to. God has blessed you SO much, through so many "trials" in your lives the last couple years I've been watching you. You obviously have His favor. Numbers 6: 24-26

Good sermon :). A lot of people don't talk like me. They're like What??? I see things from a persective and life that few have experienced. Yet - what, or who, is my rock? my guide? Jesus. I measure my words by his guidance. Oh yes I have worried, been angry, depressed, lonely and afraid. But if I step away for a moment... take time to listen for Him... I come away with a renewed spirit. I mean he doesn't turn into a physical person of course! But yeah - a spiritual sense that rarely commands, sometimes reminds me, often surprises me with a-ha moments. Thanks for sharing this video. Wise of you to consult even wiser, more experienced farmers. You're doing well, man! 😊
