To Missy... Party-pooper! ;-P There are plenty of cases where dogs (and sometimes cats) were obviously protecting their owners or kids. Instinctual loyalty to and protection of family/pack is a thing too, ya know. So is predatory chasing behavior. Hard to say exactly what's happening here, but no matter how you slice it, he was a brave little dog! Actually it varies by breed and by individual dog, and in most cases is likely a combination of motives.

I’m a sobbing mess. This reminds me of when I charged a coyote with all the energy I posses in my body because he had my princess in his mouth (my cat, Bunny). He dropped her and ran for his life because he knew if he let me reach him, I would’ve fought to the death for my baby. I had to rush her to the emergency vet at 2am and they wouldn’t even touch her unless I forked up $800 on the spot. I had to apply for Care Credit over the phone to pay for it. She has puncture wounds in her neck and body and her shoulder was crushed like glass. I had to isolate her in my closet for 2 months so she could heal. Every day I’d be lying on the floor in my closet administering her meds, feeding her and cleaning her. I’m happy to report that 8 years later she’s a fully healed, fat fluff ball that runs to cuddle with me every time I sit or lay down. She’s my absolute princess and I’d be less of a person without her.

I think this was an older lady, maybe first time dog owner, maybe problems with her knees and can’t run (she was carrying a walking stick), but it doesn’t mean she doesn’t love her dog. Maybe she was using a retractable leash (which is not recommended) and Buffy was too far ahead for her to grab him. Maybe the leash broke or was attached to a 2nd collar that broke. Maybe she was too afraid of the coyote to run down the horse trail. The part with Ron and the garbage bag and leaving Buffy was a bit odd since he knew the coyote was in the vicinity, but everyone reacts differently. This video made me cry because Buffy is one sweet dog who was originally left to fend for himself on the streets. I think this video prompted many suggestions for Buffy's new owner such as using a dog harness, things to carry on her walks, etc.Thank you for another great video Eldad.

The whole wrapping the dog up in a bin bag then just leaving the dog sounded very odd though, that part makes no seance at all!
@glemwheatley94254 жыл бұрын
According to the story, the dog broke the leash. Even the cartoon showed the dog running away with collar still on. Some people are inherently mistrustful of the world and like to find conspiracies where there are none. The story sounded plausible to me, parts of it told second hand. That’s how stories grow, nobody gets the perfect details second hand. I, too, wondered why the guy didn’t carry the dog all the way, but I assumed he was concerned somehow about moving the dog, or of the woman’s reaction upon seeing all the blood. Maybe he thought it would be best to sop up a towel with some of the blood first. Who knows. I tend to assume people are telling the truth until a more blatant lie is told or the story conflicts. If Eldad believed her, I believe her. And if I was her, I’d be getting a stronger leash, a larger stick, and a can of mace.

The culprit here is Ron that did not take Buffy with him after he found him in bad shape. How in the whole world he left the little dog at the mercy of coyotes that he knew were there?!?

He's either a complete idiot or he is somehow involved in this in a sinister way. Or she is. Something does not seem right.

OMG yall didn’t listen right, he left buffy in a bag in his car with the door open, he thought buffy was dead so he left the door open on the car, buffy wasn’t dead and ran out of the car the 3rd time

the guy found the dog injured bleeding from the attack and as the call says he left the dog to tell the lady to get a towel, then came back and the dog was gone again. he would rather leave the dog in the middle of a coyote attack than get blood on his clothes? so lame.
@Decopainterandtea4 жыл бұрын
Yes I am baffled why he left him there.
@pegs16594 жыл бұрын
Maybe he didn't want to move him around too much because the dog was injured and he was afraid of hurting him further.

My thought too about just leaving him
@magickelfgirl4 жыл бұрын
This is just speculation, but I think, since he thought the dog was dead, he didn't want Marilyn to see the mangled body, so he just wrapped the dog with the bag and went back to get the towel to wrap it up with something better and then they would go bury it or whatever.
@Noviosity4 жыл бұрын
he prob thought the dog was gonna die (which was not true)...idk why ron didnt let the lady bring buffy to the hospital...the dog be suffering more than he should had with those wounds :(

Agreed. His owner should have picked him up immediately the moment she saw the coyote that’s what I would’ve done, coyotes are relentless and stop at nothing. When you see them, grab your dog and get away as soon as possible

The coyote was not after the woman, the coyote was after the little dog. It must have been hungry. Tough little pup!
@snapper63904 жыл бұрын
true, Coyote's are not dumb. They will go after creatures smaller than them. it would not attack the woman because humans are bigger than Coyote's. It would only attack her if she charged at it. You are also kinda wrong because It would really not attack the pup either because it was not alone. The pup charged and that provoked the coyote. But still, that pup is a tough one.(Bless the pup)

@B N lone coyotes snag small dogs all the time. Multiple coyotes will also take on large dogs. There are lots of coyotes where I live and I've heard about both of these situations.
@wwaxwork4 жыл бұрын
They don't eat dogs and they hunt in groups. . They see dogs as tresspassers. Being opportunity scavengers, they might eat a dog if they were to kill it during a fight, but that's not why they are fighting.

@@snapper6390 Here in East Texas it is coyote breeding season. One lady took her small dog out to potty IN HER YARD, and one lone coyote snatched it up. Others have reported their larger dogs were lured to chase one lone coyote, who led it to a waiting pack. They are smart, and around here, they are appearing in neighborhoods which are not at all rural. We have even seen bobcats in this area. We have a lot of densely wooded areas even close to the center of town and we are encroaching on their territories. We must be vigilant because they are fighting for survival. We are even experiencing problems with raptors and hawks grabbing small dogs and cats which are 10 lbs. or less. Our population is close to 82,000, and we are experiencing a real problem this mating season.
