I agree with you that the purple seems out of place in the piece. Maybe if you had still done the fish in a more muted orange (I am assuming they are koi)? Or if one or two of the fish were breaching the surface in order to spread the orange around the piece a little. Or if you made the tiger off-center, it might add a little more interest, and then some of the fish at the top swimming sideways, or just turning to swim away. Other thoughts would be to add some greenery either on the water (like water lilies or something) or some hanging over the sides of the water. I like the variations in the color in the water, and the water lines conveying movement.

I love this piece because it has a lot of things I struggle with my own art. The fishes are very impressionistic and expressive, the movement of the water feels very organic and dynamic, and the tiger really pops! It has a looseness and movement that I feel my own art tends to lack. I feel everyone can sometimes become almost used to our own strengths and special traits, so I thought I'd mention that to you!

Crossing my fingers so this sketchbook is easier on you *and* you get to have some rest this holiday season. Your videos have been a huge inspiration this year and watching you paint is very enjoyable ✨

I thought what you said about the "meaning" in your art was interesting. During high school, pretty much all I did was "interpret" what I had made after the fact. I can be quite impatient in addition to getting bogged down in any "meaning" whatever piece I was making had/was supposed to have. And really, I found that to be quite fun. It was certainly easier, in my opinion. I felt like I had more to go off of when I interpreted, say, the process of painting or sketching or drawing... none of which I was going to get in a "planning" stage. I found meaning in "well, why did I want to paint this?" or "do I even like what I've just made here?" versus placing meaning in color or composition or shapes... Not that I'd never do that. But like I said, I felt like it bogged me down. I tend to interpret symbolism quite literally (so to speak), so that perhaps is influencing the way I feel about that Additionally, I resonated with what you talked about with the work you used to do. I feel like the further I got into drawing, painting, and creating (including learning proportions, "proper" color usage, and the like), the more I just... couldn't finish things. It always felt like I was following Rules more than I was just making painting. I came to feel so divorced from what I was making. And it really was awful. These days I'm also trying to reconnect with my work. It's been hard, and I'm still not in the habit of creating every day (really I find it pretty taxing, truth be told). But it's been getting better, I guess. And part of it is being more and more okay with how things turn out. I only recently started posting images of my art online and it feels like I am clawing and screaming my way to the "post" or "upload" button every time I've managed it. Otherwise, I do enjoy the color harmony between the tiger, the water, and the fish. I agree that the purple along the tiger's back is... stark, but I also think it would've been good too if you'd simply toned it down a little. Purple and orange is definitely a favorite color combo for me :)

I think the fish would have been better in some sort of orange hue, different than the tiger but still something close. The purple throws the piece off a bit, BUT I still adore this concept, I love the colours of the tiger with the blue water. It is so beautiful 😍Starting the sketchbook with this, honestly if it was me I would feel so inspired haha! Heck, I feel inspired by you just watching you create this! Defintively want to try something similiar out in the future. I am such a sucker for orange and blue tones together lol

Ooooh I love this piece! The fish are fantastic! I think if you changed anything perhaps make few of the fish significantly darker and perhaps if the tiger stripes were dark purple. You could always workshop it digitally before making changes to the original. Like I said, I absolutely love this piece even if it is in a naked sketchbook 😉 I get it though, gotta get to know it first before picking out the outfit

I love the way it came out! I do feel like a bit of contrast is missing in the fish. Maybe a similar dark blue to the tiger?

Listen there are no new ideas, but every single time someone will create the same idea it will be an original. What makes a piece unique is the artistic eye, the process, the strokes, the colours, the teeny tiny accidental or unintentional details you decide to leave in. I’m sure I’ve seen many photos/paintings of a tiger swimming from above, but non have ever looked like your piece. No one ever mixed those exact colours, no one ever put that wave in that location, no one ever planted the fish in this composition. Your art is original and unique, who cares if someone else out there also cane up with the same idea? ❤

Ok i wrote this while watching, now that Ive finished the vid- its perfect. I love this piece. If you want my suggestion, if you must must add something to it, perhaps a frame? Like a painting frame. Stop being so hard on yourself please! You’re making me shake my phone or you screen shoulders ❤

I love the first page so much!! I think it was executed very well. If you want something to add you could add foliage on the sides so it looks like there are trees around the water, or add some flowers floating on top of the water (maybe red to contrast the greenish water). Also, I’m not sure if you’ve done this before, but if you want you should make a video where you design animals as humans! It’s such a fun exercise to translate features of animals to people. Keep up all of your great work, I hope you can thrive in this sketchbook!!!

tigers really are beautiful! 😍I love this piece and it's a wonderful concept, I don't think there's anything missing but since you mentioned, I guess the focus isn't completely on the tiger so maybe covering up some of the purple parts could help with that ❤❤

I really love this piece you made!! The colors and vibrancy are really nostalgic to me? I think the way you did the water with all the blues and teal-greens reminds me of a kind of Studio Ghibli vibe. Do you think you’ll have prints of this one? I’ve been on a tiger kick myself recently, and would love to grab one!
