You call them toboggans we call them stocking caps to us toboggans are a narrow snow sled that have curved ends with ropes on the sides that 3 people can ride on with their legs wrapped around each other and when they get off they have to roll off we have toboggan slides around here like where they make snow with machines and have skiing too.

My Australian Shepard dog, Blue, loved the snow. He would bury down into the deepest snow and come up panting. Blue slept on top of the shoveled snow piles as paths were kept clear to and from the chickens, goats, and dog pens.

Those baby goats are so precious! What a joy to see them! Is it just the 3 kids up in your house? How many live kids do you have outside? The snow looks so pretty and it brings back such good memories of when we used to live up in Connecticut. But I don't miss the shoveling, and I definitely don't miss the mud after the snow starts to melt. How can you tell if the kids are nursing enough when you don't get to see them doing it? I don't know anything about it, so I'm asking to get educated. Enjoy those little babies, and be careful in the snow. Be thankful you didn't get 3 to 4 feet of snow. Then it's tremendously difficult to walk in that! Even with only 1 foot of snow, a good snow blower comes in really helpful. Steph I know you don't want to keep all the girls but you may consider keeping them long enough to decide who behaves the best on your farm. Then if you need to get rid of a problem child it won't be so painful to part with a breeding female. So basing your decisions less on color and more on behaviors maybe more profitable for your farm long term! Maybe the one who isn't so flashy stays in fences, throws triplets, and is a great mother. If you get rid of girls too early based on colors you will not know who the real keepers are. Maybe you should decide who stays and who goes after their first kidding! Just a thought. ❤

@ I say that because most all baby goats, lambs, calfs, etc are so darn cute. Whatever she decides to keep will be good but why not be slower to pick the true keepers since this couple don't have a ton of tie to waste on problem children. Maybe someone else can.

Hey not hating on y’all but you may want to down size not that y’all aren’t doing a great job at taking care of your goats but having bigger heards it’s harder to keep sickness down being most goats hide sickness really well till it’s to late and it spreads though the hard, and that could be be why your having more then usual rejection rate too just bring it down to a more manageable amount of goats it helps a lot.
