Yeah that Jurassic Park game is basically like every early-mid 90's CD game where they just packed a bunch of lame mini-games on a disc with a slow menu. Only thing it's missing is the low quality FMV's with unknown amateur actors straight out of some acting school.

That first level in Captain Quasar is really brutal. I don't know why, but it's pretty much the hardest level in the entire game because it's massive and it's also on a timer. The rockets will eventually start leaving on their own before you get to them. I feel like the idea is that you're meant to approach it like a speed runner and keep notes on the teleport codes so that you can traverse the level quicker, as well as making a note of where the cluster grenades are hidden and taking advantage of the exploding barrels, but it's so completely different in design to the other levels that it's kind of baffling. It's surprisingly easy to run out of ammunition as well due to the respawning enemies, so you need to ensure that you never walk through the same area more than once. Why would you make the first stage so absurdly complex and difficult to complete when the rest of the game is just about running around and blowing things up? The final boss is pretty strange as well. For some reason they decided to have the final boss be a section where you're in space ships going really fast and avoiding black holes and asteroids. This never happens before the final fight so you're just dropped into a completely different gameplay style. I've never seen a game since with such a brutally difficult beginning and end, which both completely change the way you're intended to be playing the game as compared to every other level.

10:00 The only things I learned in school were: Pi=3.14, how to ask to go to the bathroom in French, and how to cover up the smell of weed before going to class. There may have been some science and history in there too, I don't remember.

It actually had some good games if you know what to look for, but a lot of early CD games were pretty terrible. It was basically an experimental era without any real standards so a lot of stuff is pretty weird or hard to play.

Didn't help that there was no quality control and any random tiny studio could make some weird crap and easily distribute onto it. It was like paying 700 dollars to access Xbox Live Indie Games

im pretty sure game difficulty affects how good the computer players are, which is why despite setting them to hopeless in the 3do vs 3do match, they're still doing pretty good because he set the difficulty to max.
