Avenged Sevenfold has been my favorite band since I was 13 years old. I am currently 32. This is my first time seeing this version of this video. Around the time Nightmare came out, there was a contest on Facebook to win a bass guitar. Which I won. It was my most prized possession. The case was beautiful. It had one of those "Waking the Fallen" stickers on it, but it was a little bit torn off. The large letters A 7 X on the instrument case. The palm wear and chipped blue paint from where Johnny's hand rested. It's the same bass guitar he's using in this video. Had an abusive ex. She almost made me throw it away. I begged and pleaded. But she had me blackmailed. I brought every single item I owned to the garbage dump...the bass guitar in the bed of my truck. And the guy at the dump asked me "what's in the case?". If that dude wasn't there...a piece of musical history could have been lost forever. I miss it, but the guy who took it was a bass player. And he was a fan too. I lost everything I ever owned. And I'm slowly building it back up. Slowly building my entire life back up. The PTSD I feel every single day is a struggle. But I'm glad to be alive to know, one day, I can see them play live again. Thanks for anyone who took the time to read this.

Yeah I'll agree with that, wasn't putting A7X ahead of Metallica or zircon Maiden or Sabbath by calling them Kings, nor just the heir... Which is what they become the modern day Metallica. Trivium will never reach that stature or even be close, hence why they can never be "kings of metal'. And my original point was just that it's hard to think that the band in this video could evolve into becoming a band big enough to be the heir to Metallica or Sabbath or Maiden

Nickleback and Pink Floyd don't even have similar sounds so it's a stretch to compare them in any regard. As far as A7X masterpieces go I would be a biased source. I would say, "a little piece of heaven", "coming home", and strength of the world" or even my favorite "second heartbeat" but your average listener is obviously gonna say songs like "hail to the king" or "bat country". It's the same how any true Metallica fan is gonna say Ride the Lightening is better than the Black Album even though it was the black album that put them on Zeppelin level. Now A7X is not close the having anything like the Black Album or VDoP or the Number of the Beast but then again so doesn't any other modern Rock band. No one is even remotely close to A7X in reaching the status of those older heavy metal bands which is why they headline everything now. Simply put no other modern band would headline a show over Avenged (certainly not trivium) so how could they possibly be the "king" over them?

my all time favourite Avenged track. I ADORE the downtuned DROP-C guitars at the very end of the song, paired with Rev’s amazing drumming. Who'd have known what would go on to sadly happen, and who would ever have thought Mike Portnoy would have to fill in because the world's most consistently ranked 'best drummer' was the only one who could possibly fill Jimmy's massive shoes, and even that didn't work out! However, as a massive fan of Bad Religion, I feel Brooks Wackerman is a worthy replacement, even though Jimmy could never ever be replaced in our hearts.

Old Avenged was amazing, new Avenged is amazing. They've lost no integrity or sold their souls to mainstream music just because they have more fans, they have more fans because they continually make amazing songs and people take notice. These guy's continually change style because they are true musicians who want to make what they believe is great music, they won't write songs fans just scream and pout about because they like a certain style. I'm pretty sure that's the truing meaning of integrity. While I believe criticism is needed for anything to get better, please come up with actual arguments, don't just complain because they like to constantly shift styles.

In 2008 my band and i were playing a show with about 10 other bands in this warehouse and whatever band got the loudest applause and screaming from the audience won a free recording session...we were the 2nd to last band on the setlist to play and our closing song was ax7 "unholy confessions" ........yea....we won by a hug landslide...thanks ax7 for giving me an amazing song to play live that people love to song too...
