This comment needs to be at the top lol it's a crazy statement to be able to say like 50% of an entire genre made a career out of one album/song but you aren't wrong at all. This song holds up by today's standards and more

Not ahead of their time they were all derived from mainly Maiden, Sabbath,Queensryche, ozzy, and even some punk bands , these riffs werent new and styLe, not even octive or note , they werent ahead of their time merely a morph into the new age , metalcore style that sits now , ,, they influenced the style not the sound itself nessacarily

Their drummer is so solid in this. Obviously everyone is, but the drummer has to lead the rhythm. It's wild listening to some of Black Dahlia's old tracks and how timing gets off at points in Funeral Thirst i.e. This track is still awesome today.

With this ink in my skin we've sealed our fate And the axe comes early (Only naturally) So what does that matter? There's a bed of skeletons waiting for me On the other side They're waiting for my next move (next fatal breath) Human lives to me seem so unreal, can't see through the fog (Nothing past a grey wall) see past the stereotype Belief, structure built up in you I'll tear you down and the One who created you If they didn't have One how would they act? If we didn't have hope how would we behave? Would they still feel remorse If they slaughtered innocent beings? Or is hope the only thing that keeps you sane? A good friend once told me you are memory Without them we equal nothing And all I can see is the place I wanna be Suddenly my life was so free Leaves at my feet, blown to the ground Their echoes are reaching my ears Night's coming fast, sun's going down But keep away from me Keep away from me [x4] (It's hard, to keep me in this place, keep away from me) We may have created the beginning, mentally We may have created the beginning, physically To the end of our human existence I see through you The fear that's in your eyes A good friend once told me we are memory Without them we equal nothing And all I can see is the place I wanna be Timeless my life was so free Leaves at my feet, blown to the ground Their echoes are reaching my ears Nights coming fast, sun's going down - confused I don't know the answers but neither do you

Also about a year ago (I’m not to sure when this happened so don’t yell at me if I’m wrong) M shadows had some kind of damage to his vocal cords and had to cancel 25 shows. So he hasn’t sounded very good since then. Also after WTF on CoE, S/T, and DitR his vocals were clean but still really good it was only until HTTK when they started getting bad. An example is to listen to different live shows you can hear the difference in his voice especially when the play the older songs like he can’t sing the beginning of Unholy Confessions.

I'd say its the fact that this song and album are coming up on 15 years old. Couple that in with the possibility that a lot of the people that listen to Avenged Sevenfold now most likely came around somewhere between Nightmare and HTTK. They either never took the time to backtrack their catalog or just preferred their newer sound. To me WTF is my favorite Avenged Sevenfold album. This album played during a lot of pivotal moments in my life. This album will always be held close to the heart.

@@buffscooby2746i think the reason why it doesn’t have as much views before is because how many people made lyric videos so people were listening to this song just not this video until they copyrighted and took down the other videos
