This indeed is higher ground and words have to be chosen extremely carefully. So many subjects around the Saviour’s death- Judas, Peter’s betrayal, forsaken by all His men, still performing miracles which the Jews do not acknowledge eg the repairing of a cut out ear, etc, etc. For sure among the many subjects, Pilate stands out too- declaring Jesus innocent that many times, his wife warns him about the troubled sleep she had because of Him, and looking for a way out for Jesus ….. but playing to the gallery is what clinches it for me. Pilate, in your own words you declare Him innocent, so WHY then flog Him? Why Pilate? The Jews had generated enough hatred to kill Him but His blood need not have been on your hands. Pilate…..

Dear Ps Finley, I live in Cape Town, South Africa, and am listening day after day to the current un-Christlike babbel that is taking place in the media. It is an offence to God, the church and the membership. I would appeal to the GC to convene a week of discussion with all those involved in this public spat which is not taking into consideration the fact that there are millions of SDA' members across the world, including newly-baptised persons who need to see Christ, not only in biblical faith, but also in the persons chosen to lead the flock. I appeal for a meeting of all involved in this unfortunate situation to enable the work to continue and all issues in future to be approached in a Christlike manner. Let's bring Christ back into the work, not just in the lesson books. Lets find a barn for prayer and discussion,, to enable Christ to reign in the hearts of our leadership, Pastors, and members at this end times.

We're thankful for your concern. Will send your request to Pastor Mark.
@cieldepinfos64433 ай бұрын
Your concern is ours too, brother from South Africa. The GC leaders should really this kind of general assembly on zoom. Things need to be clarified by giving time to the church members worldwide to have their opinions to say. If the GC leaders still consider that their mandates derive from the church members worldwide, then they will do it to avoid a mass backsliding or a dangerous split in our church. In this case they will be held accountable...

@@HL365 Thanks for confirming the Investigative Judgement is uniquely Adventist. Jesus has to be on the cross in AD 30 or AD 33, according to information from the Bible, Jewish calendar for Spring passover, and first century historians (Jewish and Roman). Every Biblical scholar agrees with these dates. It is primarily 7s who have come up with AD 31 which is based off of EGW visions. Investigative judgement is completely based on EGW visions. Any honest 7 will claim this. Adventism goes against the sufficiency of Christ Jesus atonement finished work on the cross, resurrection, and ascension into heaven itself seated at the right hand of God the father. The complete and finished Atonement is Penal Gal. 3:13 ; 2 Cor. 5:21 Substitutionary Lev. 1:4 ; Isa. 53:5-6 ; 2 Cor. 5:21 ; 1 Pet. 2:24 Voluntary Jn. 10:18 Redemptive Gal. 3:13 ; Eph. 1:7 ; 1 Cor. 6:20 Propitiatory Romans 3:25 Reconciling 2 Cor. 5:18-19 ; Col. 1:21-22 Efficacious Jn. 12:32-33 ; Rom. 5:9-10 ; 2 Cor. 5:21 ; Eph.2:13 ; Heb. 9:11-12,26 ; Heb. 10:10-17 ; 1 Jn. 1:7 ; Rev. 1:5 Revelatory Jn. 3:16 ; Rom. 3:25-26 ; 1 Jn. 4:9-10 Praise God the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ whom I believe in! What was the role of Herod in Christ's crucifixion?
@HL3653 ай бұрын
6 When Pilate heard this, he asked whether the man was a Galilean. 7 And when he learned that he belonged to mHerod’s jurisdiction, he sent him over to Herod, who was himself in Jerusalem at that time. 8 When Herod saw Jesus, he was very glad, nfor he had long desired to see him, obecause he had heard about him, and he was hoping pto see some sign done by him. 9 So he questioned him at some length, but he made no answer. 10 The chief priests and the scribes stood by, vehemently accusing him. 11 And Herod with his soldiers qtreated him with contempt and rmocked him. Then, sarraying him in splendid clothing, he sent him back to Pilate. 12 And tHerod and Pilate became friends with each other that very day, for before this they had been at enmity with each other. Luke 23:6-12

Pilate did everything he could until it came to himself. Pilates own selfish desires, for his own prestige, is what caused him to give Jesus Christ to the people, to be crucified, even though Christ Jesus was 100% innocent.

You don’t flog an innocent man! I was born into the SDA church. And I rebeled against it for decades-especially when I was almost killed by certain members. Until I humbled myself, and realized that God is behind everything that happens to me and there's a good reason for it. I'ts, really immaterial who executes it. Now, I realize that the SDA church is the only intellegent, thinking denomination out there. But your method of worship is largely uncharacteristic. I understand there's new members who need to be versed into the fundamentals of what we believe, and how we believe. But I see seasoned members going over, and over the same stuff as if they're going to "hear" something they haven't heard before. Ellen G White had visions that humanized the Christian gospel. You find, only so many, clergy who are adept at doing that. It's largely very mecnanical. The same thing happens every Sabbath, check the bulletin. But the people are grand; authentic and sincere-even if plagued by the same social inadequencies we all feel.
