Neat pitch! The world is totally fleshed out, it's just delegated to the atmosphere and some unlockable artwork. I don't know if I want anything TOO big for a story, so as not to take away from the free updates and how they sometimes flesh things out like with Misango and Coyle. But some more flourish in the presentation should satiate the "story mode" crowd.

If there is any game I would love to see at E3 it would be ARMS 2, ARMS was my very first switch game and I love it even to this day, I recently spent 3 days just analyzing hidden gimmicks of each character because believe it or not, some characters have hidden techniques that some people don’t know about. I too have spent 300 hours on this game and wish more people saw how artistically awesome this game is. My hopes are basically everything you said as well, all ARMS and characters carried through the next game, some new additional characters and ARMS as well. I would love a story mode honestly, the gallery has made even more lore for the game that has made me think it needs a story mode to tell. I didn’t think of customizations for each characters but that would be awesome. I feel like a world or hub to walk around would be nice, I feel like it would add more immersion to the game as well. Anyways, glad to see someone who appreciates this game just like me and doesn’t view this game as a “Flop”. Good video and thanks for spreading the good word of why we should have an ARMS 2

I loved Arms during its free trial to help advertise Arms coming to smash. It should have been on sale as well and I would have gladly bought it. Mummy was my main cause I'm a horror nerd and his regeneration ability.

What I would do for your hopes to come true! You have such a good understanding of what makes this potential series special, and I have next to know notes. ARMS was one of the games that I really connected with early into the Switches life since it took me a few years to give BotW a chance, and I put so much time into what is such a fun game at its core. ARMS is really special and had too much life and soul in it to be wasted. You summed up my thought perfectly and had so much more to offer on top of that. This was such an amazing video, and I’d love more ARMS content!

I remember being so hooked when the global test punch released for the first time when I played it all I wanted was more ARMS I stuck around every hour it was available ✊and picked it up day 1 and have loved it every since. I shed a tear when ARMS was coming to smash, I’m very happy that you seem to love the game as much as I do, here’s to this game being not just a stand alone game but the first in a series that I will surely stick around for 😃

Most fighting games only really solidify their identities and presence with their second entry. I hope ARMS gets its chance. I think something gameplay wise that I hope they do is lower everyone's health/increase the strength of attacks. Matches go on a bit too long and I find that games where matches go by quickly tend to be much more exciting (see Mahvel)

ARMS had such a good formula, but it needed so much more to keep the fanbase from getting bored. For splatoon fans, that's the point splatfests and octo expansion. If ARMS 2 wants to succeed, it needs a lot more other than just adding free characters, it needs a more complex story mode, good DLC that improves upon the game, and some sort of event that keeps the community alive

Yeah I want an ARMS 2 as well. See the first game I love the theme, the characters mostly and the songs but it just lack content. The story from this game it fell a little short and looked too easy and rushed, even when you choose a level of difficulty you want but that was just it. I more than just win a grand prix, I want an actual story mode. I want the characters to interact with each other, learn their story of how they became the ARMS fighters that we know and love. Also I want cutscenes too.😊

Damn near agreed on everything. Especially about the way story should be handled, so many since it came out lamented it not having a grand, big story mode but like... Its a NINTENDO made FIGHTING game. It was never gonna have that and I think the "mystery case file study/Biff expositing as an announcer" and details in the background/on the characters/artwork type world building is amazing as it is and gives ARMS it's own personality in how it handles lore. Buuuut yeah, having things like intro and ending scenes for each character's arcade mode. With maybe things like unique artwork unlocked for certain conditions in those arcade modes like Street Fighter does recently would be cool. As for cosmetics, I would love things like alt costumes. Not as dlc fuel its genre contemporaries use it for, but just 2 or 3 cool (and/or hot, won't see me complaining) outfits for each character, just to add more charm and spice up visuals if players are using the same character. Your idea for accessories is also a good one, the latest Virtua Fighter implements both to much success so it's doable. Also yeah, UI wasn't something i was thinking of but you're right. Players always remember and appreciate even simple menus with lots of flourish and pizzazz and even though compared to a lot of other Nintendo series going for a more basic, sleak look in UI with their switch entries, ARMS is already fairly vibrant and standout, they can go even further beyond. Punching stuff as you select would be dope and lots of fighting games have things like cool artwork as you transition between menus already, it'll be a cinch. Overall, great video. Glad this showed up on my feed. Looking forward to more Sock talking ARMS.

I hope that ARMS 2 comes to switch and Nintendo EPD9 save the next Mariokart for their next console launch. Clearly the switch’s audience are enjoying 8 DX, but the ARMS series still needs more of a push to cultivate more of a crowd.

ARMS is definitely a fun game, and while I haven't put too much time into it, the characters are awesome, the music is catchy and the gameplay is super unique and fun. I'd love to see it get a more fleshed out sequel! Also Lola Pop is best girl 🤡😎

The problem with that is the game is built around having your field of view follow your character. The camera needs a point of focus, which would make free movement hard, let alone platforming. I think the characters and world could have more opportunities to shine, but a "story mode" is unnecessary. And most fighting games don't have em anyway.

My real hope for a sequel (aside from it happening at all) is just more to offer to lonely losers like me who want a primarily singleplayer experience. Online has its place, but it’s not for me. I’d like a full on story mode, but Nintendo doesn’t have the best track record with that kinda stuff, so I don’t know.

I hope Min Min winning the Party Crash Tournament and representing ARMS in Smash will change the Story of ARMS 2. I want her to be the new ARMS champion you have to defeat at the end of a grand Prix. Max Brass would retire and maybe he has a daughter who also has ARMS and will fight for the honor of her family. I would also like to see Bowser Jr. as a playable character. His Clown Kart could have ARMS and I just think he would be a fitting character for ARMS. I hope there will be ARMS 2 on Switch. Good video. You earned my sub. Why have ARMS 2 when you can have LEGS. But honestly the issues ARMS faces is that it wasn't as explosive as Splatoon. That lands it in territory like Xenoblade's where the Mario maniacs aggressively write it off, when they'd probably be huge fans if it had come out on the Gamecube instead.

I half agree, but the thing is, Splatoon did blow up despite being so new. I'd say it has more general appeal than ARMS because it's a shooter and has cutesy japanessy girls. But ARMS isn't without its appealing characters. So I just don't know

@@ATalkingSock Personally I think the best thing for series stuck in this lower rung is to make an effort to cross pollinate the communities as much as possible. Possible confirmation bias but of Fire Emblem, Pikmin, Donkey Kong, and Metroid it is the Fire Emblem community that has often seemed most happy to celebrate the enjoyment of the other Nintendo series, and it is the one that exploded in popularity. I mean for feck's sake I've seen Metroid fans argue Prime 4 should have a multiplayer mode because "Nintendo doesn't have a REAL multiplayer shooter" in a post Splatoon world. Some Pikmin fans also seem to have a weird idea that their franchise deserves to be considered one of the top dogs, I mean so do some Donkey Kong fans but that isn't quite as random a conclusion for them. I can't really comment on Xenoblade fans from the outside but I suspect we aren't much better. One thing I have noticed from my perspective is an annoying tendency for it to be lumped in with Fire Emblem despite being at least as different from each other as they each are from Zelda. (I am a fan of all three, but a super fan of Zelda and Xenoblade because they share the ideal of exploration which is just not something an intelligently designed traditional Tactics game like Fire Emblem worries about. Fire Emblem's idea of exploration is tactical and mechanical exploration within defined play areas. I guess that makes it more like ARMS and Splatoon on that level, despite being turn based.)

@@Twilord_ Fire Emblem never "exploded into popularity" Awakening managed to sell a little more than Pikmin 1 on Gamecube and that was Intelligent Systems go ahead from Nintendo to make the series a multinational priority. Even now, three houses (the best selling FE to date) has only sold a couple hundred thousand more than ARMS. The main issue with lower rung Nintendo properties is not being a priority for influential figures in the company. F-zero hasn't had a new game in 18 years because neither Miyamoto or Imamura or any other series directors/producers want to make one.

Honestly I thought the game was pretty fun was the first game I played 9n the switch my whole thing there wasn't a whole lot to do and the online mode was pretty bad but the game play was fun just felt like it was missing something
