I feel you. I’ve been going in 2 days a week to work from Jan and none of my dresses fit me. The chest area feels suffocating and for some dresses the sleeves look like they’re about to bust and the sleeveless ones dig deep in the underarm area. Let’s not even talk about the stomach and hips. But luckily I have a lot of Indian clothes like tunics and kaftans which are loose fitting and I’ve been able to make do. Even my sweats are tight :(

Thank you (& all the others) for sharing so openly how this past year has affected our bodies. It’s comforting to know we’re not alone. Stress makes me disintegrate. Unless I actively fight it really hard, it’s like my body just eats away at itself. It’s not “cute skinny” (if that’s even a thing) but like... decaying skeleton zombie skinny. These days I basically only leave the house in hoodies and baggy jeans. There’s a pile of cute, clean clothes on a chair in my bedroom that I just stare at, and I’m like... nope, can’t wear any of that because people can see bones poking out and will stare, or worse - say something nasty because they assume I look like this on purpose. 😐 I know I can get back to where I’m comfortable & look like a “normal human,” but I still feel so embarrassed in the meantime. It’s comforting when people talk about their own experiences, and I remember that most people feel like their bodies are all out of whack right now. 💜

Okay let's take a minute and applaud Hope for talking about real women's issues. Yes women's bodies fluctuate and that is something society needs to accept. Nobody looks the way they do what they did a year ago. I gained almost 10 pounds due to my PCOS medication and have been feeling like crap lately because everyone has been pointing out the fact that nothing fits me and seeing someone who has a platform talking about real stuff makes me feel like I'm not alone. hope, thank you for being REAL. I went from obese to being a bikini competitor. before quarantine, I had a whole six pack and felt like I could do anything. I gained 30+ lbs over quarantine and am currently struggling to get back to being the woman I was mentally and physically before all this. a lot of us are dealing with the same issues, and this really made me realize that I'm not alone.

I discovered you about 3 months ago and I subscribed to you for many reasons; you're always encouraging people to feel the best regardless of their weight. I know that gaining weight is hard, believe me, I recovered from anorexia and it wasn't easy. But I also remember a quote from one of your videos, it was something like "your current weight might be someone's goal weight, don't forget that, so be nice to your body", so don't feel bad or be hard on yourself. Actually my current body looks pretty much like yours now, and it was nice to see a youtuber (specially a lifestyle/athletic one) that isn't starving and that's a good example. Not those "hey, change your body fast", you know what i mean? I'd love for you to feel happy with your current body, at the end of the day bodies change... it's part of life. Who we are on the inside is what truly matters. You are a beautiful person, Hope, don't forget that.

I think a lot of ppl can relate to the comment of gaining weight. Last yr was crazy. I had my third child in January. He’s 3months and my pants still don’t fit. I just started working out again but until pants fit me I for now will have to live in my leggings (which you motivated me to purchase) and workout shorts! I just love my leggings and wear them for workouts, farm chores and going to town to run errands. So much comfier than jeans too🙂

So relatable! I've been using the Rent the Runway membership since the holidays. It just helps me feel more confident in the body I'm currently in while I slowly get back to my 'normal'. Also gets me out of my comfort zone to try clothes I wouldn't normally purchase!

I love that you shared this and were so open and honest. I too have gained more than I care to admit to myself in quarantine and I recently tried to wear one of my favorite dresses and just looked and felt awful. I hadn’t considered renting but it’s honestly a pretty good solution. You’re definitely not alone and for me it’s helpful to hear that I’m not either! I remember when I got down to your size and I was thrilled trying on clothes, but in the reverse it becomes another story, even when the person in question, (Hope), is still beautiful and considered goals for so many people, It’s a mental state that ultimately brings us down. When I lived in the US I used a clothing subscription service like that for work clothes after my promotion, until I found my “style” and was able to slowly build up a capsule wardrobe. It was a great way to transition styles, and try new stuff! And then I used it when I was pregnant because they had a maternity option. Saved sooo much money!
